Saint Marys Cottage is a pet friendly traditional Galloway cottage full of character. This cosy cottage boasts an open fire, ideal for those chiller evenings or cooler autumn days and has stunning views from the conservatory over open farmland to the Galloway Hills beyond. It has access to pathways to the nearby villages of both Rockcliffe, with it's safe sandy beach and Kippford a renown sailing centre on the Solway, which has two pubs, both serving food. Being Scotland there are several golf courses within a short drive. Dalbeattie Forest is within 5 minute drive away with a stage of the Forestry Commission 7Stanes Mountain Bike Trail, with others a little further afield at Mabie Forest, Dumfries and Kirroughtree at Newton Stewart. The cottage is an ideal base for exploring the Solway Coast with RSPB Mersehead nearby and WWT Caerlaverock within a short drive. NTS Threave Gardens and Estate at Castle Douglas and NTS Broughton House in Kirkcudbright are both well worth a visit, as is Historic Scotland's Threave Castle.
