Host cancelled reservation last-minute

I did not get a chance to stay at this condo so I cannot comment on the property. The host cancelled the reservation less than 24 hours before we were supposed to arrive. As a result, my business partner and I were forced to scramble to find last-minute accommodations and ended up spending more than double the price of our reservation here. Additionally, VRBO indicated that check in info was supposed to be shared 3 days before arrival. I messaged the host and they said the details would be shared the day before. That never happened and then my stay was unexpectedly cancelled with no automatic compensation for the incredible inconvenience. If I were to cancel that late, I would have had to pay a fee. Make sure you reach out to VRBO for additional reimbursement if this happens to you, as they won’t offer it automatically. I would not trust this host.
