It's a very historic site. It needs a little updating. The food and service at Darby's Tavern and at the Mansion was very good, but their air conditioning was way too cold. The complementary breakfast was good too. There is not a lot to do in the area. There are some good eating places in South Boston. Overall, it's a good place to relax.

Randomly booked this on Expedia when I took the family to a race at the Speedway. Everything else was booked and this popped up as an option. It was a short drive away. BEAUTIFUL resort! We had the dog with us, but the whole family was pleased with how amazing this place was. I've been in VA my whole life, but have never made my way down to this area. Absolutely gorgeous grounds. There was a wedding party the night we arrived, but the hotel was serene and quiet, I'd come back to the area just to stay at the resort! I really wish we had a day or two to enjoy it. We checked-in late and left early, but it looked beautiful. Nice bar/restaurant (just walked through), bu the pool looked nice too. I think we lucked out with the random booking. I'm giving it 5 stars for what we were expecting. Only negative was the dated TV w/ analog signal that was a little wobbly. Really not worth the mention for the price, but we were only there for a few hours before leaving for kids travel sports early in the morning. Would defintely book again for a longer duration! Two thumbs up!

The rooms were very nice and clean. The property is beautiful and many hiking trails if you like to hike. We toured the mansion and walked the grounds. Nice weekend getaway.

We stay at Berry Hill Resort several times a year and appreciate the elegance, adherence to historical significance and superior service and restaurants. Weā€™ve never had any experience other than perfect until this stay. We were in a lovely suite in the mansion which was superb. However, the shower had no hot water which made bathing impossible. We were there two nights for my 53rd high school reunion so the loss of showing was significant. We reported the problem to the desk attendant but no repair person took care of the problem. While this dampened our joy this trip, we will continue to stay Berry Hill because everything is usually perfect.

It was very nice. One of the elevators was broken. It was hard for my husband to get around with some of the restaurants having steep stairs and long walkways. The staff was nice and people were friendly. We went there for the cantalope festival and had a good time.

The Berry Hill Resort is beautiful. This was my second time staying here. Both times my room had a beautiful and comfortable 4 post canopy bed. The rooms have hardwood floors and are beautifully decorated. The pool is amazing, and it is fun to walk around the grounds of a historic home. One thing that would make it better is to provide more outlets. It is difficult to have lamps on and charge devices at the same time.
