Decent Stay, but better options are available
While still a decent stay, this location needs to experience a remodel. Room was 80 degrees when we checked in, talked to front desk the next morning, did not get fixed until late in the day as we had left for activities. Still was not able to get much under 74 before we left to return home. Staff was helpful and friendly, but was overwhelmed on Sunday for breakfast, as the forks, and coffee cups had run out by 9:30.

Better than you Omaha downtown property.
It was a great stay , much better than our previous two nights at the downtown Embassy Suites. On problem I had with both areas is having to pay parking. At least the Des Moines property was covered. The breakfast st the Des Moines location was superb.

The hotel was in a very convenient location. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the hotel could use some updating. Would stay here again!

We love the amenities that Embassy Suites provides but this place is in need of a renovation, bad! The furniture has so much ware and tear and smell. There were a ton of dogs so I wonder if being pet friendly affected the smell of the rooms. Musty and old smelling everywhere, especially pool. Staff and service were great, as was food.

I enjoyed my stay with my family. It was clean and the staff was great. I enjoyed the breakfast and the staff kept the area clean. The only downfall was that in the atrium kids were playing football and soccer almost hitting my child. A staff member did tell them to stop but as soon as she left they continued. Overall we had a good experience and would come again.

Very disappointed in the pool. I smelled like mildew and the bottom of the pool was slimy, you could not smell any chlorine. I'm not sure if the pool is actually being cleaned. Very upsetting for teenage girls wanting to swim.

Our room smelled very musty and moldy. The furnishings and carpet were very worn and in need of replacement. The breakfast was one of the worst free breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. The fountain drinks were very watered down and waffles nearly raw. Limited fresh fruit. Eggs were overcooked and rubbery. We visit downtown Des Moines frequently, but will not stay here again.
