Nightmares do come true.
We checked in and were assigned 2 rooms as that was what we had reservations for. Upon arriving in the rooms both of them smelled like urine and 3 of the 4 beds had dirty sheets on them. When this was reported to the front desk i was told i would need to come to the desk to get new linens. When i went to the desk i asked if there were any other rooms available due to the smell of urine and was told to come with him and we would check the other rooms. We went to 3 other rooms one had no electricity to any of the lights, the next 2 had dirty sheets and when i unmade the bed to check the beds he remade the bed before we left saying it was fine. The next room was a non-smoking room that smelled like skunk weed, and finally we were told he only had 2 rooms left empty. Both rooms smelled like damp mold, but we already paid and needed to sleep. NEVER AGAIN....

Worst motel in Des Moines
The room had 50 big black flies buzzing on the window. The flooring was so old that the linolium color wad wor off. Thin nothing pillows, a junk mattress. It looked like a pay by the hour motel for hookers to turn tricks. I got my money refunded and went down the road. DO NOT GO THERE!

We did not enjoy our stay here. We actually left a day early because we couldn’t stand the room. They also did not refund me for the last night we didn’t stay even though they said that they would. Do not stay here, it’s messy, loud and unsafe. The staff is nice but very flippant when it comes to hearing your concerns. I will never stay here again. Save yourself the time and book somewhere else.

Worst hotel I've ever been to!
I felt very unsafe at this hotel. There was nothing in our room, no microwave, no mini fridge, no cup, no ice or ice bucket. There was not even soap to wash with. A lot of sketchy things going on. And some guy was trying to look in my room when I stepped outside to smoke. A very bad feeling came over us and we had to go stay somewhere else. I would never recommend Motel 6 in North Des Moines.

The place is scary and the sorroundings of the property is dirty and smells bad! We feel unsafe theres a lot of shady people we didn't see the photos of the sorroundung are before we book we just saw the room and it says non smoking room but it smells like smoke inside and the bed sheets are full of cigar burn
