Surrounding is great, quite. Lots of walks nearby. Dinner expensive and ambitious but not high end cuisine. Nice rooms. Endless music loops in the dining room and lobby hall are a bit annoying.

Fabulous 2 day stay
It is a classy, elegant and homely country hotel. It is tastefully decorated and our room was excellent, clean, comfortable and spacious. Entering the Hotel is like entering a small stately home. The staff are highly professional, friendly and responsive. The food was also exquisite. It is not cheap but worth every penny!

Check in was a slow process and when finally shown to our room, it faced an outside wall. The bathroom was damp and the towel rail didn't work. The bed was less than comfortable and generally service at the hotel was extremely poor. When the above was raised with the staff at the hotel, they provided clean towels but did nothing else to try to improve our stay.

Great visit and gorgeous location
A lovey experience at the hotel. Very impressive getaway as your approach and had a gorgeous afternoon tea there. The hotel itself is very grand and the breakfast was delicious. We were in the Parry room upstairs in the roof and there were great facilities. Some of the decor in the room was a little dated but inkeeping with the period building. We went on a gorgeous walk in some of the stunning countryside!

Hotel very nice in a lovely quiet area. Excellent service from staff. Room very nice. Only small matter is the shower over the bath - not great as it linked to the taps therefore does not give you a lot of water ti wash. Otherwise everything was lovely.

Very nice hotel with beautiful surroundings, staff is very friendly and welcoming. I felt that the way it was decorated made you feel as if you stepped into a family living room which was lovely

We had dinner at the hotel since we where staying there and I know it was more of higher dining experience but when the entire experience is 2 hours long, that was a bit much for me. Also, the area to unload your luggage at the main entrance was extremely difficult since you didn't have the ability to drive through-you had to back up since the parking spots where all taken. There wasn't much in the way of ventilation in our room and since there were bees nests outside our windows, opening the windows lead to some unexpected "fun".

A great place to stay
Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel was a great find in mid Wales. It was a bit pricey but well worth it. The service and food was excellent. The grounds were beautiful. The hotel is away from the village and the road which provides a very quiet in the country stay. We would stay there again.

Best Uk hotel I have stayed in in the last 20 years. The setting is spectacular, the staff well trained, the food Is superb and the wine list is well thought out and supports the great food. I will be back and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to the most discerning of guests.

Nice stay
Found the hotel very pleasant however felt the staff were trying to arrange our stay around them. Being in our early 50’s felt that we were a bit young for the hotel. Food slightly over priced.

Nice B+B with big pretentions and hefty rates
This is a nice family run b+b with pretentions to be a lot more than it is. The cost of a room and a meal in the restaurant is similar to that of, say the excellent Llangoed Hall or the sublime Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, but the standard here at Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel is of a much lower standard. The staff have not had hotel or restaurant training, the furnishings and fittings are all a bit pretentious, and not of a high quality...Faux marble tiles, faux wood, copies of old master paintings - you get the picture. It would all be just about bearable at half the price.

A hotel in a grand stone manor house
Our room was comfortable and very well equipped. To begin with I found the size and grandeur of this award winning hotel slightly intimidating. The welcome and professionalism of the staff soon made this a really relaxing enjoyable stay. The food was excellent, with something for every taste at breakfast. The interiors, gardens, grounds, surroundings and location are all beautiful.
