Really nice hotel in a great location for shops restaurants and if you don’t mind a walk you can walk to Dortmund football team stadium. Felt really safe there. Only thing I would say is house keeping could be noisy sometimes early morning

Reservierung funktionierte nicht. Telefonisch erhielt ich trotz 5 Anrufen und der Zusage, dass ich einen Rückruf erhalte keinen! Ihre künstliche Intelligenz am telefonservice hat mich also belogen - wie ist das möglich. Besonders ärgerlich: ich musste das Zimmer bezahlen und kurzfristig am Spieltag eine teure Übernachtung organisieren. Einem renommierten Hotel in Dortmund nicht würdig - leider.

Stayed for 3 nights last week for the football. Hotel was in a good location, within walking distance to the centre of Dortmund and also 5/10 minute walk to the train station. Hotel room was clean and staff on the reception were very helpful whenever you asked them for anything. The only downside was the service at the bar could have been better especially with the hotel being busy for the football, seemed to be no one on at the bar area on a regular basis and we went once to be told the bar staff member would be on in about 15 minutes. However, I enjoyed my stay and would certainly stay again if I’m ever back in Dortmund.

Rude front desk staff, unnecessarily cumbersome check-in procedure, NO A/C in the BUILDING (!!!), dirty bathtub… all in all a very bad experience. To add to the misery, they charged my card several hundred Euro, without authorization, in the middle of the night on the last night before check out. I asked them to cancel the charge, and instead they made a second charge for the same amount. It took nearly a week before they managed to cancel both charges. In short - in absolutely no way worth the money.

Grand looking hotel in a great location opposite the main shopping area and an easy walk from the station and football museum. There is also a u-bahn station right opposite. Excellent value for money. Everything ok and worked fine. Just a few niggles.There were no English language TV channels, the bedroom smelled slightly of smoke and check in was slow as there was only one person. There was no aircon (i knew that) and the nights were quite hot.

No ventilation at all. Very heavy traffic all night. Dificult to sleap due to the nesesety to have OPEN Windows. 30 degrees during night. Not cooler as they said it would be at night. No fan avaliable all week. Due to this we will not recomed this hotell

Good location for accessing Dortmund city centre whilst not being too central for it to be too loud. However, pretty dated decor throughout, areas of the hotel had evidence of slow renovation work so was quite messy and clutteted. Staff were fine, room was ok, but no air conditioning or fan wasn’t pleasant. Sleeping with open window meant woken by loud construction work at 6:30am on one of the mornings. I wouldn't personally be back, but it served its purpose

The Grand Dortmund Hotel
Staying in this hotel is like staying in a Wes Anderson movie. The lobby is so grant and looks like something from a lost era. There were almost no guests when we where staying and it felt kind of deserted - staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms do not match the rest of the interior although spacious. Breakfast was the worst I've ever tried in a hotel. Location is central. All in all a very interesting experience that I would recommend. But eat your breakfast somewhere else.
