We had a wonderful time at Creekside Cottage in Drumore for our annual summer reunion. Our family members came from Indianapolis, Boston, and North Jersey.
The cabin is beautiful, immaculate, peaceful and serene. It is very roomy and comfortable, and well stocked. All the rooms are beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the wrap-around deck, and multiple places to be alone and read books. The screened in upper porch was a beautiful place for dinners, as we were outside and able to hear all the multiple sounds of nature.
We hiked at nearby parks and trails, and enjoyed the fire pit at night where we roasted marshmallows and reminisced far into the night.
The property is filled with the beautiful and peaceful sounds of nature; crickets, varieties of birds, and the babbling brook below. There were no other human sounds.
The surrounding area is filled with the charm of Amish countryside. It is neat and clean, with miles of beautiful fields of crops, horses, goats, and cows.
This location gave us the opportunity to visit with our elderly Dad and Grandad who resides at a senior care facility in Lancaster. We brought him out to the cabin for a dinner, and he enjoyed it very much.
My only regret is that we did not stay longer. I will reflect on the memories of this beautiful place for a long time, and hope to return sometime soon.
