Welcome to the cozy and beautiful "The Gales on Lake Superior". The Gales is nestled upon the water's edge overlooking Lake Superior and provides stunning views of the sunrises and sunsets on the glistening waters of Lake Superior. It's located at the headwaters of the popular Northshore!

PROPERTY
This two (2) level Gales with cedar and bluestone highlights throughout has 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, one half bath, quality linens, and is outfitted with comfortable and luxury class Stearns and Foster mattresses for a restful night's sleep. The Gales has everything you need to relax and listen to the waves for a private and up-close experience. Fully air-conditioned to make your stay comfortable on those warm days and an electric fireplace in the lower level for cozy warmth on a cold day. The property has board games, life vests, beaches towels, and other necessities for a wonderful stay.

BEDROOMS & SLEEP
The master bedroom is located on the main floor and is outfitted with comfortable and luxury class queen size Stearns and Foster mattress for a restful night's sleep on a modern platform bed. The master bedroom has a full bathroom, large closet, and Roku Smart TV. In In the bluestone lower level there is two (2) additional bedrooms both with modern queen-sized beds outfitted with comfortable luxury class Stearns and Foster mattresses for a wonderful rest. Each bedroom has its own Roku Smart TV's for a personal streaming experience.

KITCHEN & BREAKFAST BAR
The kitchen and breakfast bar is fully equipped with stunning views of Lake Superior from the main floor kitchen, dining and living room. A walkout deck overlooks Lake Superior and offers a relaxing and refreshing spot for morning coffee on the lounge furniture. It is stocked with a KEURIG one-cup coffee maker with stocked variety of coffee flavors, basket of snacks, toaster, blender, silverware, glasses, icemaker, and all your daily kitchen cooking items and dishes. There is a dining area next to the kitchen.

LOWER LEVEL
The lower level features a walkout patio, a den couch area with an electric fireplace, a full bathroom, two (2) bedrooms, and a washer and dryer.

OUTDOOR PATIO & DECK
There are three (3) patios and decks. A lower-level walkout fieldstone patio offers outdoor lounge furniture, accent lighting, a gas grill, and a gas patio flute heater to keep everyone comfortable while providing beautiful ambiance on a lake evening. The main floor offers a walkout deck from the living room. The lower grass terrace, just feet from the shore, offers lounge chairs with sparkling views of the moon rise over the water or the warm glow from the fire pit. Firewood is stacked and onsite for your free use. This terrace is situated on an 8’ overlook providing stunning views with stair access to the water. On calm days, take the kayak/paddle board combos (2 available from May-Sept) down to the water and glide across the clear lake for a refreshing recharge.

SMART TV & INTERNET
The Gales is equipped with Roku Smart TV's to live steam free content or connect the Roku TV to your paid subscription services. The Roku Smart TV's have a "Guest Mode" that allows you to identify your check in and out dates and the Roku Smart TV will automatically log you out of your subscription services on your departure date. Once you walk into the property, tabletop placards will identify the passcodes to connect your device(s) to free high-speed internet.

LOCATION
The Gales is located at the headwaters of the popular and busy Northshore of Lake Superior while located close to the canal, restaurants, entertainment, and downtown Duluth. It is located only two (2) blocks from Brighton Beach Park (Kitchi Gammi) and Lester River Park for great hiking or mountain biking. Grocery store within two (2) blocks. The Gales, on the lakeside of London Road (which can become busy in the tourist season), is one of the two units in this up and down Villa. PL 22-012. The upper villa is a vacation rental called “The Vue on Lake Superior”. If your interested in booking the entire property, please contact the host.

Split Rock Lighthouse Ceremony
Stayed here for the anniversary of the sinking of the Edmond Fitzgerald. Watched the lighting ceremony at Split Rock. The location was perfect to explore Canal Park and watch the lake traffic. The house was super clean. We built a fire almost every night and watched the sun set. Beds were very comfortable and nice pillows. The living room couch is very low to the ground so stacked some pillows on it to make it easier to get up. (We are all senior citizens). Great views of the lake. Would stay here again.

The place is beautiful! Wonderful views of Lake Superior. The house was very clean and well maintained. We ran out of propane in the outdoor heater but the property manager responded immediately and quickly brought a new one. We would definitely stay here again.

Very clean, nice location-not as quiet as I prefer.
Nice amenities, right on water. The only negative is there is a unit above and you can hear everything. Them walk, flush toilet, drop stuff on the floor. If you are a light sleeper, like me, you cannot sleep in main bedroom. I had to sleep in one downstairs for quiet. Location is great, place is immaculate and has extras like games, spices etc ...

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE
I cannot begin to put into words how amazing this property is. The cleanliness, the style, the comfort of the beds, the furniture. Everything was above and beyond. Tabitha, you are such a gracious host. We enjoyed the outdoors, I was on a kayak and swimming for 3 hours. The water was shockingly warm. This house is absolutely lovely and tended too by gracious giving hands. We cannot begin to thank you.

Perfect Sistercation
This property provided my sisters and I the perfect getaway. Everything we could have needed was readily available, including a neighborhood grocery store, brewery, and liquor store within easy walking distance. One thing the listing is not clear on is that the house has 2 VRBO listings... the main and lower level that we rented plus an upper floor. Each has a private entrance. Our first night at the firepit, we found ourselves competing with the voices coming down from the upper balcony and through our open windows once we moved inside.

This Rental had Everything
Super pleased with our stay at The Gales! House came with everything from Keurig coffee pods, shampoo, bathrobes to hybrid kayak-paddleboards, life vests and fire wood. We brought our own kayaks and had calm waters 3 mornings in a row for paddles around Brighton Beach. Fire pit, fenced backyard and stairs down to the lake were fantastic. We rented adjoining property The Vue and had extra room for the rest of the family. Highly recommended!

The Gales, a lovely home on Lake Superior in Duluth
We had a lovely week at The Gales with dear friends. The space was thoroughly accommodating, very clean and well appointed. The Gales is positioned directly on the Lake Superior shore and provides lovely views at sunrise and dusk. The alluring white noise of the waves was an added peaceful feature. The owner contacted us the day of our arrival about a scheduled repair to the air conditioning system that evening and provided a sizable refund to use for dinner at one of Duluth’s many lovely restaurants while the HVAC crew was working. The repair was completed promptly with no intervention whatsoever from us. That proactive service was remarkable. We recommend The Gales and plan to return to this lovely home!

A Wonderful Stay in Duluth
First class property! From the moment we walked in, we were WOWed by the beautiful home and the unbelievable view of Lake Superior. All of the amenities were top notch (like coffee pods, monogramed towels, toiletries, etc.), there were even snacks left for us and the furnishings were top of the line. The house was immaculate, the grounds were so inviting and the whole experience was a solid 10!

Such a beautiful gem in Duluth!
When we arrived, we were in heaven seeing the property. It was modern, so clean, and it had everything you could want to enjoy your time there. The decor was simple and the beds were super duper comfortable! The bonfire area and how close we were to the lake was spectacular! Tabitha was super quick responding to all our questions. Girls Weekend Paradise
We absolutely loved our stay at the Gales. There were 4 of us spending a girls weekend exploring the area. The house is perfectly located to allow you direct access to the water for swimming, kayaking, or paddleboarding, and to easily access the restaurants, shops, and walking trails / parks nearby. We loved everything about our stay - and used the kayaks to do a nice paddle up coast, the firepit for smores, and the house for spending time together. Truly a gem - hoping to come back!

Beautiful wonderful stay!
This was our family's 3rd summer trip to Duluth and this was the best house experience by far! Lovely little rocky beach right at the house, and just down the road from a larger rocky beach. The house was SO clean and had absolutely everything we could have needed. Easy use of TVs, well-stocked kitchen supplies, tons of bedding and towels. Perfect mix of comfort and luxury. It was spot on and we're already looking forward to another stay!
