Merrijig is a modern, detached property on the edge of Dulverton, only a few minutes walk from the centre of the village, where you will find a good choice of shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. This property sleeps up to to 6 (+ cot). Note, this property does not accept groups of work persons.
Main Description
Entrance to the property is just off the car parking area on the drive, the front door opens into a hallway with a double bedroom on each side, one with en-suite shower room, and there is a further toilet with hand basin off the hall too. Upstairs is the main living area, the large sitting room has sliding doors onto a balcony with views over the surrounding countryside, and a door to the rear which opens onto a small patio area, and access to the garden. The large kitchen with dining table and adjoining utility area is also upstairs, as is the family bathroom, comprised of bath with shower over, toilet and hand basin. There is a third bedroom upstairs, which has twin beds and a cot. The rooms are all spacious with plenty of storage, two of the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes with sliding doors, plus chests’ of drawers in all bedrooms. A path from the back door at the rear of the kitchen leads up into the garden, which is a slightly sloping lawned area, and large picnic table at the top on a paved patio.

Security deposit
A security deposit of £200 is required when booking this property. This will be added to the total price of your booking, and will be refunded after your stay unless the owner discovers damage to the property or its contents after your departure.
Appliances and equipment
The kitchen appliances are all modern and include fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave, and large electric Stoves range cooker with dual oven and induction hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, cafetiere, a variety of cookware, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
The living room has a television with a Freesat box, and wifi is available throughout the property at no extra cost. An iron and ironing board, and hairdryers are all provided for your convenience.
Linen and towels
Bed linen, duvets, and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.
Electricity and heating
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of the accommodation. Merrijig benefits from central heating, which is controlled by thermostats that can be adjusted to suit your preferences if required.
Other provisions
Tea, coffee, milk and biscuits will be in the cottage on your arrival. Other non-perishable items including salt, pepper, and 1 or 2 toilet rolls per toilet will be provided.
Cleaning materials such as washing-up liquid, dishwasher tablets and surface cleaner will be present in the property together with a hoover.
Outside the property
The garden to the rear of the property is enclosed and private. It has a large picnic table at the top of the garden on a paved patio area and the lawn back to the house is slightly sloping, with a path that runs to the side. There is a further table and chairs if required. From the garden there is a side gate with steps down to the front of the property.

Off-road parking is available in front of the property on the drive, there is space for two cars. Further free parking is available on the roadside if required.

Arrival and departure
The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Merrijig is available for week-long bookings and short breaks.

The region
Exmoor is situated in South West Britain, specifically across West Somerset and North Devon. There's so much to see and do, from short walks to long expeditions across the moors or horse riding, taking in a safari or sight-seeing at your own pace around the 'picture postcard' villages and hamlets.
Dulverton is known as the southern gateway to Exmoor and is also home to the head quarters of the Exmoor National Park. There are several streets of shops in Dulverton including a butcher, Post Office, fish & chip shop, greengrocer, late-opening supermarket, art gallery, hairdressers, guns and fishing tackle shop. There are also a number of quality boutiques, interesting gift shops plus a handful of lovely restaurants, tea rooms and pub.
