Nice room, fresh and clean with a lovely outlook. Staff friendly. Was quite noisy at night though with the dual lane road below.

Please do not stay here . I have backpacked around the world and this was up there with the worst nights ever. My room was filthy. Nothing had been moved to vaccum and the shower curtain was mouldy, to name a few things.Bethroom floor was lifting and carpet stained and filthy. Matress was so old and uncomfortable. Worst part was though really got no sleep as everytime someone opened a door or walked along the hall my bedroom door shook like someone was breaking in. Luckily by 3am I figured out if i put towels under the door it limited the movement enough to just be a little shake. I had already tried other things. You could also hear everything in the next door rooms. I didnt expect fancy for the price but clean and functional would have been nice. Sad to see a historic building treated like this

My mother checked us in, said she got a cold reception. Free parking across the road. Very old and dated with scary lift that closes superfast (there is a sign on the lift) - the receptionist was not sure if it was working which did not put a lot of faith in it when she said she thought it was fixed. The cold water tap was really noisy and made a huge noise when turned on. Bed was really soft and aged. Not a pleasant nights sleep.

This is a good old fashioned hotel from a bygone era that offers a clean and comfortable stay in the heart of the city at a reasonable price. You can’t tell a book by its cover.
