My wife is a city-girl, and I'm from rural Washington. This makes it hard for us to find trips that work for both of us. Staying at Left Foot Farm was so incredible, it was immediately a favorite for both of us.
We arrived late in the evening on Friday, and were given a welcoming tour of the entire farm, with a constant reminder that we were free to explore the farm as much as we wanted. That night, I took a hot bath on the patio of the our lodging at the Nest while listening to frogs, crickets, and restless goats. I felt the chill wind and saw a sky full of stars. The next morning, I got up early and watched as the goats were milked. Each one had a name, and the farm crew were loving and attentive, giving each one attention and patience while they were milked. Later, my wife and I played with the baby goats. If you've never played with baby goats, it will elevate you. They are animated, adorable, and extremely social. I took videos of my wife (someone who is scared of wild animals, bugs, etc.) getting mobbed by baby goats and laughing - being fully in the moment. Also, a special mention for the dogs and cats of Left Foot Farm. They are very friendly, social, and lovely creatures.
If you're looking for a getaway from the city, or stresses of life, I can't recommend this enough.
