This fully air-conditioned 3 bedroom cottage sits directly on Sengekontacket Pond in the town of Edgartown. You will be welcomed through a wooden archway leading you to a cobblestone courtyard full of perennial plantings leading up to a wrap-around mahogany deck that affords incredible views of Senge Pond and stone steps leading down to it. Inside you will find an open, very well appointed cottage with equally stunning views of the water.
The first floor has an open floor plan with the kitchen, dining room and living room all together with vaulted ceilings and skylights. The first floor is also where you will find the first two bedrooms, full bath and laundry. All conveniently located towards the back of the house and can be closed off with a door for added privacy.
Following the open staircase up to the second floor you will find a very nice sitting area just out side the master bedroom. Inside the master bedroom you still have amazing water views through the french doors that can also be closed off for privacy. Connected directly to the master bedroom is the second full bath.
This is a great cottage that is a perfect balance of island living with its clean white interior and hardwood floors, to its breathtaking water views. Its location on the pond is perfect for swimming, kayaking to the Jaw's Bridge, diving, boating or just about anything else you would like to do. Downtown Edgartown is only 2 miles away and the closest public beach is only 3 miles away and even though the cottage is just an 8 minute walk to the bus route and bike path it is still recommended to have a car for everyday convenience and to allow you the opportunity to explore the entire island and all that it has to offer.
So whether you're looking for an island getaway where you can enjoy everything from the privacy of your own cottage or if you're looking to see the whole island or a combination of the two, this is a perfect place to start.
Please be advised that if you plan on bringing a car to the island, especially during the peak summer months, it is mandatory to make reservations well in advance. The Steamship Authority typically begins accepting reservations in January for the upcoming year.
