Lakefront Cabin: Many options for entertainment or relaxation

Remodeled 2 bedroom lakefront cottage with a loft on Lake Koshkonong. You have access to almost an acre of land and over 100ft of a sand beach which includes a pier to dock your boat. The area is also great for swimming. There's parking available and cottage comes fully furnished and includes cable/internet. Gather around the campfire or relax on the deck. There's plenty of bars and restaurants to visit on the lake and cottage is close to many local snowmobile trails in the winter time. The home also features a fire pit and Adirondack chairs to sit around the fire as well as a large yard for games and family activities.

Neighborhood is mostly full time local residents and overall a quiet and friendly atmosphere.

1-2 Dogs are allowed for a one time fee of $100. Please do not allow the dogs to go in loft area and pick up any waste from yard upon departure.

2 kayaks are available and included in your stay.

Lake Koshkonong is a 10,000 acre lake in Southern Wisconsin with lots to do and see. Apart from the great fishing and boating opportunities, there are several restaurants on the lake that you can boat to or drive to as well as winery tours in the area and great shopping. Kosh also boasts some of the best fishing in the Southern part of the state. The lake also attaches to the rock river so you can boat all the way up to the Indianford dam and view the scenery and amazing houses along this stretch of river.

Early Spring on the lake
Comfortable, well-equipped and pet-friendly cabin, with a nice view of Lake Koshkonong (without leaves on many the many trees). Excellent communication by the owner. Enjoyed the Show ce Age Scenic Trail at nearby Storrs Lake.

Watch out for deer
My folks stayed here over Thanksgiving. They enjoyed the quiet, and the lake view. If they come back in Summer they talked about booking this property again. We saw deer moving down by the lake in the moonlight, that was really special.

Beautiful Summer Cabin in Great Location
My family took an amazing trip to this lakehouse cabin in beautiful Edgerton, Wisconsin. Everything was perfect, the view on the lake was astounding and being able to experience the view with kayaks was a definite plus. The cabin itself was very clean and cozy with plenty of space for chilling and sleeping. The owner communicated everything very well and cared about our every need. Our stay overall was extremely incredible!

DISAPPOINTED and DIRTY
I rented this property for a family getaway. There were many inconsistencies between the listing and the actual property. This was a renovated property of which many of the finishing touches had not been completed and /or or done poorly. There is no beachfront to go swimming on as there is muck approximately 2 feet into the water. There really is no outside seating area either. There were inconsistencies on the check in time from my reservation, a couple emails and then a text message. Also the directions within the cabin were once again different. The downstairs beds were uncomfortable. The absolute worst part was the lack of cleanliness. There was dog hair ALL OVER THE SHEETS… it was like I was sleeping with somebody else’s dog. Absolutely positively disgusting and unacceptable. I would recommend others to bring their own linens including bedding and towels. I would not recommend staying here and would not stay here again.

Lake Visit 2022
Our family had a very enjoyable time at the cottage. The cottage was smaller than what we expected but we made due with no problems...granddaughters really enjoyed the bunk room with their own TV. Distance to the lake was longer than we anticipated but we became acquainted with a resident deer and her fawn during some trips down to the lake! James, the owner, was very prompt when answering our questions prior to our visit, even recommending a boat launch that was close. Overall, we had a great time and would certainly recommend this place for a small family.

James was an excellent host that was easy to communicate with and responded whenever we had an questions or concerns. The house was as described. The only negative about th leg trip was that the beach was infested with bugs. It was impossible for us to enjoy the beach. The public beach just a little down from the lake house was also infested with bugs. We understand that is apart of lake life. Not sure if it was just a bad week for the bugs or not. Just be aware that you may not enjoy the beach. Everything else was great!

Rural Wisconsin Lakefront Experience!
This cute, rustic little cabin was just what we needed for our week-long trip to visit family in the area, and for anyone looking for an authentic Wisconsin getaway, this is just about as "Wisconsin" as it gets! The cabin had plenty of room for our family of four to spread out and relax. The kids LOVED the loft -- it was like their own secret clubhouse -- and, with local temperatures reaching the 90s (plus humidity!) during our visit, we greatly appreciated how well the A/C units kept the cabin at a comfortably cool temperature. We also enjoyed playing foosball, kayaking, and just enjoying the scenery along the beach. The appliances (washer/dryer, stove, etc) and technology (WiFi, SmartTV) in the cabin all seemed to work just fine; we didn't run into any issues. The host was great, responding to messages right away and checking in via the VRBO app to see how our stay was going. Check-in and check-out were quick, easy, and hassle-free. The location worked out well for us; it's only a few miles from a Piggly Wiggly, as well as the world's largest Culver's(!), and even though it was just a quick jaunt to Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Janesville, or Madison, it definitely felt like you were getting away from everything. We did end up dealing with bugs more than we'd have liked (not the host's fault, obviously -- this would be the case with any wooded, lakefront property in rural WI!) Renters should pick up some bug spray on their way to the cabin and remember to check for ticks (We didn't find any on us, but we've heard they've been bad in the area lately!)

The house was a perfectly quiet getaway spot. Great location for our dogs.
Listing accuracy, check in/out process, amenities and owner communication were excellent. This was the perfect size spot for me, my wife and our two dogs. The late March weather did not allow for much beach time but we enjoyed exploring the neighborhood on walks/runs.

Escape from the City
We had a wonderful time getting away from the city for a few days. The neighborhood is super quiet (in winter) which was exactly what we wanted. Loved walking around the neighborhood and lake. Location was perfect with views of the sunrise over the lake. The house was perfect for 2 adults and our dog. The house was comfortable and clean. Had basic kitchen items for cooking. The shower was great! Plenty of heaters and blankets to keep us warm in the subzero weather. James was very responsive and helpful from booking to check in. We would definitely go back and recommend to others! Thanks James!!!

Short walk through a cute wooded area to a beach.
Perfect size house for a few days of lake vacation. Loft area gave 4 teenagers a bit of separation from adults when inside. We were here during the week and the lake was quiet. This made playing on the lake easy.

Cute cabin but issues with stay and lake
My family booked James' cabin because of its description as a waterfront property with dock and sandy beach for boating and swimming. Unfortunately, what is left out of the property description is that the house is a long ways from the water and most importantly, the water is not one you'd want to swim in. Lake Koshkonong, while perhaps good for fishing, has a major issue with blue-green algae. It legitimately has the appearance of thick, green, pea soup. I don't know if this is a year round problem, or if they're just experiencing a "bloom" right now, but regardless, it was unswimmable as far as I was concerned. You could not see even an inch into the water. We also learned that apparently blue-green algae is toxic to dogs, so make sure any animals joining you stay away from the water. Our family did rent a pontoon boat from a local marina and enjoyed our time out on the lake, but it just wasn't what we were expecting for this trip since I just didn't feel comfortable having the kids in the water. The cabin itself was cute and cozy, and my three kids LOVED the loft area and the foosball table. Unfortunately, we encountered some issues with the cabin. I addressed these concerns with the owner and he was disappointed to hear that his standards for cleaning and preparation were not upheld for our visit. The issues were: used sheets and towels had been simply shoved into the main closet unwashed, the toilet seat was unhinged, and there was sand in every corner of the bathroom. When we brought up these concerns, James was apologetic and helpful in addressing the issues we experienced with our stay. He even worked to get us a refund on part of our trip, and I could tell he was truly sorry for the issues. Although it wasn't what we were expecting, we had a good time together as a family, and we enjoyed going into Edgerton for a meal, shopping, and ice cream at the General Store. That being said, before booking anything on Lake Koshkonong, I'd check the status of the algae bloom so you know what you're really going to be able to enjoy.

Sisters Get-a-way
Renting a place for my sisters and me through Vrbo was easy. Communication with the host was great. We had a wonderful time in a quiet area in a cute little cottage. We found a couple of great places to eat: Two Brothers Bar and Grill in Edgerton and Lakeview Bar and Grill by Milton (great band on Saturday night). We were a little disappointed with the lake: not really much of a "beach", extremely muddy bottom (feet sink in), very shallow, smells of fish, and due to cottonwood trees, top of water covered in "cotton." Obviously the host has no control over the lake. Thanks James for everything.
