Great host. Clean room and facilities. Location awesome with cafes /restaurants very close Port of Leith with Britannia and distillery were superb visits The trams were modern and went past front door into the heart of Edinburgh Only negative were small rooms and small set of steep stairs and tv reception was rough. But minor given all other factors

Clean and basic, although slightly dated. Really friendly staff and loved the complementary water, irn bru, juice, and croissants in our room. Tram stop nearby to take you in to Edinburgh, which was great

Pillars house was absolutely incredible! We had never been to Scotland before, and pillars house was the perfect place for us. Not only is it in a gorgeous and accessible area of town, but the host, Craig, was incredibly friendly and accommodating. His knowledge of Edinburgh saved us from wandering around looking for the best eats, in fact right when we arrived he sat us down and wrote us a list and marked a map with his favourite spots. Pillars house was truly the most homey place so far from home. All three of us who stayed there would recommended it to anyone travelling to Edinburgh in a heartbeat! And Craig, if you’re reading this, you rock!!

Stayed only for one night but had really good time. Room was clean and warm. Fridge was stocked with soft drinks and there is some snacks which is really nice touch. Close to everything that leith has to offer as well as centre. Would stay again.

Very friendly and helpful host. He gave us a rundown of the city and even let us keep our car there the next day as we explored Edinburg. We appreciated having access to the kitchen and the complimentary coffee, water and snacks. Would stay there again.
