Good location, disappointing breakfast.
Location was great and we used the valet parking. Our Chamber room was nice, toilet and shower were separate with the wash basin in the room, personally don’t like this. Large selection in mini bar but only Tennants as the lager offering. Most disappointing was the breakfast, we had a look at the buffet option which we could tell was Luke warm so opted for the freshly cooled option, this was also Luke warm and to be honest looked as if it had been taken from the buffet! Staff were buzzing around in the breakfast room dragging tables around to reset but paying no attention to the guests still eating breakfast.

Overall, it didn't meet my expectation. There is no real bed for my double-bed room, there're two small pull-out sofa beds. For the price you pay, and vibe created, I should at least get real beds. Room was not ready after 3 pm and I had to keep reminding them that I have upcoming tour scheduled and needed to complete check-in. It was frustrating. The receptionist who checked me in did not bother to follow up on my room. Overall was a disappointment. The concierge was the only attentive staff and was kind to help when my room was not ready. Location is good. It's a disappointment besides that.

Didn’t think it was worth the money, over priced for what it is. Noise from nightclub nearby kept us awake as well as the room was cold on first night and no instructions on how to use the utilities. Managed to get the room warm by the time we were to leave.

My new go to place in Edinburgh
Our stay at Virgin Hotel Edinburgh far exceeded expectations. The staff truly made it a five-star experience. It was our first time staying at a Virgin property, and I had some concerns that, like many luxury hotel chains, it might feel generic or cookie-cutter—but I was pleasantly surprised. The decor was fun, tasteful, and had a youthful vibe that set it apart. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, assisted with our luggage, and offered a glass of champagne. Thanks to our Hotels.com membership, we received a generous room upgrade. The room was spacious, incredibly comfortable, and featured stunning views of the Old Town. Also, very accommodating and dog friendly. Overall, it was a 10/10 experience. Not only would I stay here again, but I would actively seek out Virgin Hotels at other destinations. A big thank you to the Virgin Hotel Edinburgh team for making our stay so memorable!

The rooms were great as was the cleaning staff. quiet clean rooms and hotel was in a great location to walk to everything. didn’t like the staff - from front desk to bar staff all acted like we didn’t exist or were very unfriendly. very unexpected
