Property was ok, dated but ok. Staff and service was very good. They were helpful when my kid had accident in the night. Dinning options were there but the food was very bad in all of them. My kid survived on ice-cream and french fries the entire 4 days stay as some food he eat there didn't sit well and it was the case with few more kids in our group.

This hotel needs a major renovation. There’s mold everywhere in the spa, workout room and some areas around the property. The food and beverage stuff are super nice. Bellman stuff need to be more helpful and help the customers with their luggage’s instead of standing around.

The resort and / is priceless, so peaceful, beach fantastic. albeit, it looks like it is getting tired (eg, chrome rubbed off of faucets, toilets lacking water pressure). My issue was the amount of time consumed checking in - over an hour (for something we had previously checked in on-line). My suggestion, while not the property of the resort, the beach front accumulates a lot of trash from the tides. As a sign of goodwill, the resort should clean, rake the beach daily.

Lunes y martes ellos no tienen personal atendiendo alrededor de la piscina, entonces uno tiene que ir a recoger las bebidas al bar, los bartenders son rudos y se tardan en servir las bebidas. Un día tenían un restaurante cerrado y otro reservado para un evento, entonces no habia opciones para cenar. Para el desayuno el personal que tienen no son amables. Mi esposo y yo hemos estado en un Riu en Cancún y son excelentes nada que ver con el de Costa Rica, en México son excelentes anfitriones y es por eso que quisimos ir al Riu Guanacaste Costa Rica y nada que ver. En el área de la playa las sillas están sucias y en mal estado. Mala experiencia en ese lugar no lo recomiendo para nada.

We have been to the RIU Guanacaste twice in the last two years. The team members at your property are excellent. Moises is a great and fun bartender at the pool. David, from the entertainment staff, called us all by name. We booked two tours with Pablo at the Scuba Caribe booth and he was excellent to work with. The staff at your resort is really what makes it a special place to visit. I work at a resort in the United States, so I really notice the little touches that set the RIU apart from other resorts we've visited. From the coconut drinks at the pool, to the nightly entertainment in the theatre, your team makes the experience fun for your guests.

There are two Riu properties inside of this gate… Guanacaste & Palace, we stayed at guanacaste. At other Riu’s (Cancun, Jamaica etc) you are allowed to go onto the other properties. We walked onto the palace property to have lunch & were told by one of the wait staff to leave and to go back to guanacaste. But at guanacaste several palace guests were on property and were never asked to leave (foam party, bars, restaurants etc) we saw several gold bracelets…. Did not like this about Riu Costa Rica guanacaste & the way they handled the bracelets/ crossing properties was not consistent or fair from guest to guest.
