Welcome to casa del Sol, where you can step back in time and experience the history of Taos. Built in the 1970s by Michael Reynolds, the creator of Earthships and a pioneer in renewable construction, this home was constructed using recycled beer and soda cans. As you explore the house, you can still see the remains of these cans, giving you a unique glimpse into Taos' past. This multi-acre property offers plenty of privacy and space for you and your loved ones to relax and unwind. From the inviting outdoor patio with a propane grill to the lush, landscaped yard with a weeping willow tree, you'll find plenty of spots to lounge and soak in the beautiful surroundings. The location is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous skiing, hiking, rafting, and fishing options within a 20-minute drive. You'll also be just 15 minutes from the charming town of Taos and its renowned shops and galleries. At Casa del Sol, you'll have access to our team of local experts who are available anytime during your stay to ensure you have a truly unforgettable experience. We also offer concierge services, including private chefs, meal and grocery delivery, transportation, and more. Our focus on supporting the local community means that your stay with us also helps to sustain and preserve the unique culture and natural beauty of Taos. Our team is local and lives in Taos. We are available to you at any time before and during your entire stay! Messaging is often the easiest way to get a hold of us and is available 9am to 6pm MST daily. If you experience an emergency outside of our normal business hours, including: no heat, no water, lock out or other major home issue, please contact us immediately via phone.
There is ample parking under the carport, in the garage and in front of the home on the wrap around driveway.
Traveling to and around Taos via vehicle is the best option for full exploration potential. Public transportation is EXTREMELY limited in our small town but there are still many amazing things close by to explore! There are very few Uber/etc. drivers in town, but we do have a few less common and unique options available. Please inquire ahead of time if you are looking for specific transportation needs to and from Taos and while here.
During winter months, AWD vehicles are recommended for the area. If you will be venturing into the mountains and Taos Ski Valley, 4WD or AWD is often required to access these areas.
Concierge Services
Upon booking, we also offer access to full conciergerie services, everything from private chefs, pre-made meals, meal delivery, grocery delivery, transportation services, massage therapists and more. In an area where normal delivery and other services are not readily available, we can provide for your every need. We can assist in booking dinner and spa reservations in some of the best and hard to get establishments Taos has to offer. We are also available for top recommendations for all outdoor activities and the gear needed to enjoy every adventure Taos has to offer: Ballooning, plane rides, rafting, biking, climbing, horseback riding, snowmobiling and so much more.

We strive to create a sustainable vacation rental model that focuses on the local economy and community by supporting other locally owned businesses, as well as offering their unique and amazing products throughout our homes. From the all-natural small batch amenities to the numerous local unique treats and gifts awaiting you at check-in, we truly hope you will feel the LOVE!
We are also working to create a livable balance with the ever-expanding vacation rental market and the effects that it has on our small local community. The homeowners that we choose to work with all have an interest in the success of the Taos community. They see their properties as homes and not just investments. They love the culture, people, lifestyle, nature and more that Taos has to offer. Our entire fee structure is also based on supporting and providing livable wages to our small but fierce local team and amazing supply vendors.
