The apartment building for this hotel is separate from the main rooms and restaurant. That gives a feeling of independence, quiet and is more relaxing. Also the hotel swimming pool is just outside the apartment giving a 'villa' feeling which is great. Breakfast is included, which is a simple continental selection but more than adequate to start the day. The lunch and evening menu is good and varied with even our fussier child finding different things to eat. The restaurant had constant roaming cats from the area. It wasn't clear if they were pets or wild but they were no bother and were kept out of the main building. This was not a big issue but was a surprise to us. It was our issue that although as a family we can get by in many languages, Spanish is not one of them. If you have at least a passing knowledge of the language it will be easier as the staff are helpful and friendly but not strong in English (and shouldn't be expected to be!). The location in El Valle was convenient for heading north to Granada or South to the coast but be aware that reaching the motorway is via a winding, picturesque road that gets a little narrow in places and the locals like to drive quite fast. The local area is a 'sleepy village' with minimal amenities, so popping down the shops to get something for the fridge isn't an option. Something to plan in when out in the car.

From when we arrived until we left nothing was too much trouble for Jose Manuel and his staff, all our requests such as extra pillows for example were met and accomplished with courtesy and a smile. Los Naranjos is in a very rural area replete with orange and lemon trees and is a great place to relax and take leisurely drives around the twisting mountain roads, there are however motorways that will take you quite quickly to places such as Granada with its world heritage sight of the Alhambra Palace, Lanjaron with its famous thermal spas and the bustling town of Almunecar on the Costa Tropical. We booked on a half board basis with breakfast being typical country fair of coffee, orange juice (the freshest of the fresh) and toast with a variety of toppings such as olive oil and tomato, various preserves (including some home made ones) to honey and margarine and not forgetting the Spanish red butter known as sobresada. The evening meal consisted of a Menu del Dia type meal so typical of Spain which was deliciously prepared and filling (though drinks were not included in the price of the meal, but were reasonably priced). In addition to the set menu there was also an Al la carte menu also reasonably priced. All in all we had a good break at Los Naranjos and used it as a base to visit nearby towns such as Durcal, Lanjaron and Almunecar. I do not hesitate in recommending Los Naranjos for the reasons stated above and its excellence of customer care and great service.

Great Rural Hotel; Very Friendly Atmosphere
We were here in the off season so the hotel was very quiet. For a rural hotel, this place cannot be beat. There is a bar/restaurant attached that many locals seemed to frequent and the morning views outside of the balcony and toward the orange fields absolutely cannot be beat.

Las habitaciones son nuevas y la cama comoda. El grifo de la ducha tiene muy poca presion. Sitio relajante pero la verdad que alli hay poco que hacer y visitar. La piscina es de temporada pero por un momento pense que iba a estar abierta para poder tomar el sol ya que el tiempo lo permitia. El servicio de desayuno excelente y la cena que nos sirvieron tambien ademas de un trato fantastico por parte del personal. Gracias por todo

Een aangenaam hotel voor een rustige vakantie
Het is een hotel waar je verblijft om de omgeving van de Sierra Nevada te bekijken. De grootste trekpleister is het Alhambra in Granada en de Moorse invloeden. Maar ook een hotel om eens lekker uit te rusten en te genieten van de omgeving. De mensen zijn uiterst vriendelijk en de bediening prima in orde. Het eten is gevarieerd en lekker (grandioos). Kwaliteit is top. Ook de prijs van het hotel en het eten zijn prima in orde.
