Terrible night at ESSEN.
The heating on the room was to intense (in all hotel actually). Even shutting the termostat there was still hot air incoming. I asked the reception to fixe it but they couldn't. I had to sleep with an open window earing the trafic. There was a water escape from the WC. A waste (and a noisy one). To expensive and unconfortable.

We stayed here for the second time and everything is going worse this year : water temperature in the shower is unstable, towels are so worn so they have holes, walls are dirty, desinfection odor everywhere is terrible. Breakfast is good. So we won't come back.

Chose the hotel due to its location good to U-Bahn (U11) Berliner Platz. Hotel instead was fine and the breakfast was a splendid choice of dishes. Room was large albeit slightly dated but in general was very clean and comfortable. Would I stay again, yes.

Hotel was good!
Rooms were a bit outdated - there was no ventilation or air condition so I would believe a stay here in the summer would be unbearable.. But, we came in the winter so it was fine! Very nice breakfast, and a bar with good opening hours

The hotel was well presented in terms of appearance, cleanliness and staff. The staff were very welcoming and bilingual which help prevent any language barriers. I would stay here again on future trips to the area.

Very passive / cold staff. One day I stayed out all day since early in the morning till late at night for business and when I got back, the room was messed up. It seems they started to clean and not finished... I really was not in the mood to that after a tiering day. I called reception all they could say that they were sorry and that they would say it to the manager. That night I had to recollect all the mess in order to take a shower and go to sleep in the bad. The manager did nothing to at least express himself the day after... like nothing happened. No Air conditioning in the room... in order to have some air, you need to keep windows opened... and all the street sounds get into the room... For sure is not the Holiday Inn I know around the world... and I will not book it again.
