Where to begin…so many wonderful things to list.
Upon arrival we were delighted with the secluded feeling of the cabin, while right off hwy 2, and conveniently located between the east and west entrances to the park (as well as nearby towns), the long winding driveway through the woods made it feel like we were truly “off the grid”.
The cabin itself was super cute, with plenty of room for my wife and I and our 4 kids. The kids all bunked up in the loft while we took the master bedroom. The girls loved having their own space up in the loft, and we loved having their messes confined to that area 🙄. The kitchen table was huge and perfect for us, and the fridge was well stocked with condiments (like lots of things I would not have expected but were much appreciated).
Everything was clean upon arrival and there was even a nice care package of s’mores supplies waiting for us on the counter.
Outside the deck was spacious and perfect for hanging out, the gas grill was great and we used it most nights. The fire pit was awesome, nice Mountain View and plenty of seating for us. We also really enjoyed the winding paths through the woods where we could explore the 4 acres.
As far as location, we were worried it would be too far outside of the park for our daily trips into glacier - not the case. Yes, you have to drive into the park and yes we had to get up early to ensure we had parking spaces for all of the hiking trails on our list, but everything is a bit of a drive in that area and when you’re driving past mountains and moose and other awesome things it’s not so bad 😊.
For groceries Columbia fallls is the closest and we went to Smith’s grocery which had everything we needed. We also drove into big fork and went river tubing (cabin owner’s suggestion) and it was a blast.
The hosts - fantastic. Checked in with us a couple of times during our trip and were there for anything we needed. They also made some wonderful suggestions for us before our trip and everything they suggested that we did worked out awesome.
The only bad thing about our time there was having to leave. I didn’t want to ever leave! But that’s the thing with vacations - although we hope to be back!
