Start the day perched from a vantage that can yield a spectacular sunrise. If you are lucky, a school of bottle-nose porpoises will pass just off the end of the pier. A place where brown pelicans and seagulls dive for fish and wild ducks glide just out of reach into perfect landings in the small canal that runs alongside the house. Equip yourself with a rod and enjoy some of the best fishing around, or head out with your favorite book as the tide gently laps at the foot of the pilings of the pier. Weeks bay is a treasure of undiscovered natural beauty. The cozy little cabin comes equipped with three bedrooms, two baths and all the amenities needed for good living, including a washer, and dryer. The cabin sleeps up to ten with couches and bunks for the little fishermen. Strategically located, headquarters is just 15 minutes from downtown Fairhope where you can enjoy shopping the quaint little boutiques; or drive forty minutes south to sun on the beautiful white sands of Gulf Shores. Between excursions on the rivers that feed the small bay, you can tie the boat at the end of the pier; or dock alongside the house in the small channel depending on the tides. For dinner, you can cook fresh seafood ( caught or bought) in the full kitchen, or try one of the many restaurants in whatever direction you happen to drive. Then get up the next day and start all over again. We have baby and toddler items (pack n play, high chair, and toys) available.

Hidden Gem with Beautiful Water View
I can't say enough good things about this place. The sunrises and moonrises were incredible. The setting was very private and the neighbors we encountered on our walks were all very friendly. The house was perfect for my family and our little dogs. It felt like the kind of place we used to stay for our childhood vacations. Not fancy, just comfortable. The amenities included everything we needed. I, especially, loved cooking on the gas stove and griddle. One thing to note. The amenities list includes a hot tub and there isn't one. I'm not sure if this was something that used to be there, but it didn't matter. We loved enjoying the view day after day. On warm days, we sat on the dock and enjoyed the birds and the occasional dolphin swimming by. On cooler and rainy days, we just enjoyed the view from the living room. All of us felt renewed from staying here and hated going home. The owner was exceptionally nice and helpful, and we look forward to returning to this wonderful home next year.

Perfect Location
Secluded and private! House is well appointed, although the master bed needs to be replaced (quite uncomfortable). There was an infestation of gnats, and the owner personally came to exterminate. Very friendly! It's not a flashy place but we had no problems and totally enjoyed it. It was perfect for us.

Entire Family Vacation
Sunrise Cottage was the perfect place for my husband, myself, my children and their spouses and our grandson. It was so relaxing. The pier and crab traps gave my family an experience that we don't have in our Midwestern lives. The Cottage is at the right location, a half hour from the Gulf Coast and close to many other locations that are worthy of visiting. While there we had a terrible storm (12 inches of rain and tornadoes). There was some damage outside of the Cottage. We contacted the host and they were great. If we return to this area, we would love to stay at Sunrise Cottage again.

So peaceful!
We had a great week! We stayed August of 2020 and loved it so wanted to come back and see how it was during another season. It was low tide for the water so fishing and crabbing off the dock wasn't great, but that led us to go out and explore more of Alabama. We found so many beautiful and neat nature spots with water all within 1/2 hour from the place. It was another great stay and we can't wait to return!

The place was very dusty. The Master bedroom mattress was Awful. My back was killing me from sleeping on this mattress. For $1600 a week, you should be able to sleep. Lamps with no shades. May want to check the heater. Every time we turned it our eyes were burning and we started coughing.

Annual Fishing Trip
This is our second time staying here and my family and fur doodles love it. We stay 2 weeks each time and could not ask for a better location or essentials needed. The house is well equipped with everything you need and has been upgraded since our last stay last year. Tawyna the owner is fantastic talking too. There are plenty of crab traps provided to use to catch crab, which we did end up catching along with flounder in the trap too. We seen Daulphins from the house and pier nearly on a daily basis which was beautiful. I can’t thank you enough Tawyna for letting us stay at your house, we will definitely be back next year. Another fun trip!
This was our second stay at Sunrise cottage and it was another wonderful week of fishing and fun in Alabama. You gotta wake up early to really appreciate the view from the property over Weeks Bay at sunrise. The house has everything we needed for our group. We caught lots of keeper sized flounder right off of the dock at the house. Foley and Fairhope are both about a 20 minute drive from the house and offer plenty of shopping and restaurants. Biscuit king is 10 minutes away for a great breakfast. There’s a boat ramp 5 minutes away from the house. All in all we’ve had a blast both times we’ve been to sunrise cottage.

The best time!
We had the absolute best time staying here! We spent the majority of our stay just out on the dock fishing and crabbing! The house was perfect for a comfortable at home feel! This has by far been our family's favorite vacation and we can't wait to return!

SUNRISE JANUARY 2022
Great setting on Weeks Bay waterfront with 200ft pier with wonderful sunrises. Kitchen had most needed items including a small countertop broiler. Washer/Dryer worked well and TV`s in each room with YouTube service. Only a few steps to enter house with small deck/furniture facing the water. Cul de sac location offers no traffic noise and very quiet neighborhood. Great location--15 min from Fairhope or Foley and 35 min from Gulf Shores. Mobile is close by for a day trip. Local things to do is a small tea plantation 2 miles/ Pecan store 4 miles/and Weeks Bay Reserve nature center and trail 5 miles. Picture Plant board walk is also close. Fishing nearby are piers at Hwy 98 bridge/Pelican Pt/and piers in Fairhope and Gulf Shores. Fisherman`s Discount bait shop is on hwy 98 but call for hours. Plenty of food places in Fairhope and Foley..Jesse`s in Magnolia Spring is the best around but expensive..The Biscuit King has great food in a fun atmosphere. Lot of great places in Gulf Shores with the Oyster Bar having good value lunch specials. There is a book in the cottage with other local menus. It was wonderful to work with the owner Tawnya who offered great restaurant suggestions and when I had minor questions, she answered back with the hour. Love the fact that pets are allowed and both Fairhope and Foley have great dog parks. I have stayed 3 times at the SUNRISE COTTAGE and will definitely by back...Paul, Wisconsin

Part heaven, part nightmare.
The view of weeks bay sunrises was the only redeeming factor. The steps and hand rails leading to the porch and patio are in a progressively warped and rotting condition as is the wharf that goes to the boat shed. Inside there was a wet area on the couch that smelled foul and worst of all dog feces on the middle bedroom floor. When the washing machine pumped out it backed up in the master b/r sink and gurgled in the kitchen sink. The eating utensils was a poor collection of about 4 different styles and butter knives were stained . outside leading to the wharf had sewerage draining in puddles leading and running off into Weeks Bay and smelled awful the entire 4 days we were there. As beautiful as the sunrises were over the bay i will never stay there again. I am considering calling the health dept. about the condition as i explained. I strongly suggest a partial or full refund due to the listed conditions. I took photos of the listed complaints.
