Why not park up at Hill Head, Warsash or Lee-on-the-Solent? Here the adventurous can take part in all kinds of watersports, leaving the less energetic to enjoy a picnic and view the impressive Solent waterfront that frequents many sailing events.
Take a stroll through Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve, at the mouth of the River Meon, often frequented by numerous varieties of waterfowl and migrating birds. A short drive inland, you can discover the South Downs National Park, with it's abundance of wildlife, rolling hills, farmland and bustling market towns. The South Downs National Park's landscapes cover 1,600km2 of breath-taking views and hidden gems. Visit the many 'picture perfect' villages, traditional country pubs or flourishing vineyards.
Being halfway between the bustling centres of Southampton and Portsmouth, there are plenty of opportunities to indulge in a bit of retail therapy!
You can explore Portsmouth’s historic dockyard, Gosport Explosion Museum, or take a day trip to the Isle of Wight, with regular ferries running from both Portsmouth and Southampton.
