Strategic location: every Florence historic centre site is walkable from the Maia apt (Uffizi, San Marco, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Santa Maria Novella, Piazzale MIchelangelo..). It is a lovely nest just remodeled down to the last details to make your stay comfortable and romantic: oak-beamed, wood ceiling and parquet, chip in making a warm atmosphere



The Space
Central, light and very quiet, the Maia is a charming and lovely vacation rental set on pretty street in Santa Croce area. The apartment consists of: 1 bright living room with sofa-bed; extendable dining table to seat six, TV and fully fitted kitchen ; 1 master bedroom with double bed, TV, chest of drawers, french window; 1 small bathroom with shower; 1 loft bedroom with closet and 2 single bed: one bed upstairs, one high-quality pouf bed (which can accommodate guests of any age) downstairs. Oak-beamed, and parquet in every bedroom.

The Neighborhood
Enjoy the charms of the Florence Historic center and Santa Croce lifestyle during your stay in Florence. A variety of attractions are only a short walk away. The apartment is located at the second floor of a just refurbished old and typical building, near to the most famous sites: few minutes from Santa Croce church, Dome, Ponte Vecchio, Bargello and Uffizi. Santa Croce is one of the most cool and popular florentine locations. The area is lined with restaurants, cafés, shopping spots (email hidden)ly atmosphere. Stroll down to the Macci’s street in S. Ambrogio area you'll find the lively famous food market with all kind of fresh products. There you will also find a pay and display parking. Do visit the Ciompi square with its antiquities market. Finally, I am a good cooker and food lover, so just ask for restaurant recommendations!
Getting around
Car Not Necessary.
The Florence old town centre is full of pedestrian areas, small and easy to visit walking . Anyway the Maia apt is 205 mt far away from the pay and display parking of S.Ambrogio.

Not as advertised
The place is NOT at all like it is advertised. The pictures are misleading. We were 4 in my group and as we walked in we found the apartment dark, damp and smelly. We all agreed that we could not stay there and we left right away. I had paid in advance for 4 nights so I asked for a refund for 3 nights but it was declined. The owner refused to give me any refund and I have not received a positive response from Vrbo either

Good location
Within walking distance of most sights. You had to climb up a very steep and narrow ladder to get up to the 2nd bed which was a just a single bed. Air conditioner in that bedroom leaked water all over the luggage. Pullout bed was in the kitchen. We do not recommend this place if there are more than two adults. Bring spices if you plan on cooking, all the spice jars are empty. Could use some updates or maintenance.

Hi there We looked at this posting and the picture is very deceiving, extremely small.We went without lights in the bathroom for 2 days and it was brought to the attention of the owners, where she seamed to be not attentive nor bothered with the problem. She did state that her husband would be by the next day.Once her husband changed the light bulb she scolded me about leaving the lights on....are you kidding me we need the lights on to see in the bathroom! Their was black mold in the bathroom around the shower. Never again!!!

Quaint and charming apartment in a great location!
We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint and charming apartment. It is perfectly situated close to many must see locations. It is a very quiet location and the host Eugenia was very communicative and checked in and answered all my questions as needed. It was easy to find and the check in and check out was easy. We would stay here again with no hesitation. The bathroom is small but similar in size to other locations we have stayed in throughout Europe. We appreciated having a washing machine for laundry as well and the laundry was dry overnight. Thank you!

Cozy stay in heart of florence
We had a lovely stay in the apartment which is comfortable, accurate to the photos and well-stocked. Eugenia was very responsive and welcoming, and the location was within close walking distance of all important sights. Would recommend!

What a great property! Eugenia was a wonderful host. She was very helpful with all of our questions. The apartment was perfect for my family of four. It allowed us space, separate sleeping quarters, and a wonderful neighbourhood with many dining/shopping options. I would absolutely recommend this property.

You're on your own here -- owner is checked out
Check-in was unnecessarily awful and, in hindsight, a sign of things to come. Eugenia told me to meet her friend at the apartment at 5pm. I arrived at 4:50 pm. There were at least six apartments listed outside and she hadn't given me further instructions so I waited for her friend to show up outside (I couldn't get inside). At 5:20 pm I messaged her that he was still not there; she said he actually was. That's when she (finally) told me to ring the bell for the apartment labeled "Forte". When I got up to the apartment, her friend was mad at me because I was "late"! I never received any acknowledgement or apology from Eugenia for her oversight and inconveniencing both me and her friend. The shower had a lot of gross black mold you could both see and feel. When I asked for it to be cleaned, Eugenia said "Most people don't complain about it." !!! She had it cleaned the next day but complained to me it cost her 30 euros. The shower wouldn't drain properly, filling up very quickly, until I opened the drain and cleaned out what amounted to a pony tail's worth of long hair. Disgusting! I explicitly stated to Eugenia long before I arrived that I needed reliable wifi and she assured me the new fiber internet would be great. She neglected to mention the network is shared with another apartment and if anyone else is using it, your connection freezes up and is unusable. I had to let her know in advance when I really needed it to work so she could tell the others not to use it. That fixed the problem. There are no instructions for how to use any of the appliances and Eugenia can't tell you if you ask. One day I hired her cleaner to clean the apartment while I was away for a few days and Eugenia scolded me for leaving on the air. The air was technically "on", but had not blown any cold air for more than a week as it was getting colder. Where I come from, this does not waste energy, which I am conscious of. She never offered any instructions about her preferences for this or anything else, just reacted critically after the fact. Anytime I asked for help with how to use something, she replied quickly but usually with something like "figure it out yourself" and seemed annoyed. Eugenia doesn't live in Florence any more and seems very disinterested in the guest experience. There are many better places to stay in Florence for the same price I later discovered.

Great location!
Our family of four had a wonderful time in Florence. Eugenia's apartment is in a convenient location. We could walk to all of he sights but were away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. The apartment is small ( especially the bathroom but we are all very tall 😉) but neat and clean. It is close to the 'leather school' and a wonderful gelato shop. It had all the things we needed for our short stay. I would recommend it to any couple or small family. Thank you Eugenia!

Lovely apartment, great location
I had a great two-week stay in this apartment. It's perfect for two people, whether friends or a couple. The loft is totally private and has a cute sitting/dressing area and the rest of the apartment is lovely -- even the dishes are adorable. It is two blocks from Santa Croce and about a 15 minute walk to the Duomo, Uffizi, Bargello, and very close to some wonderful restaurants. Eugenia was really helpful and her suggestions about restaurants, etc., were spot on. The shower is tiny (good luck shaving your legs in there!), but that's a small price to pay for such a delightful place to stay.

Well appointed, cozy, 2nd floor walk-up apartment, VERY near central Florence!!
What a wonderful location......no more than a 20 minute walk to everything Florence !! Eugenia and Max were a great help to us prior to our visit and very welcoming upon arrival. They went above and beyond in helping us secure a parking garage for our rental car...even got us a great daily rate :) Our children loved the loft bed and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a simple meal and nearby were many restaurants and a grocery store. The apartment was clean and well appointed , plenty of linens and AC/heat to cover you in any weather. The small bathroom is typical for city living and was rather cramped...but all in all we'd stay there again for all the other great amenities, proximity to Florence and VERY kind hosts.

The apartment was very clean and modern. Eugenia was a great host and very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. She gave us plenty of recommendations for restaurants and things to see in the city. We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment and the area it was located in. It was a very short walking distance to anything we wanted to do in the city, and we would likely stay here again our next time in Florence.

Wonderful apartment, wonderful owner
We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Florence. The apartment was well maintained, super clean and well stocked. It was also in a great location -- a very short walk to Santa Croce. We very easily walked everywhere we wanted to go, and enjoyed having a little distance from the circus around the Duomo. Eugenia could not have been easier to work with. She was very responsive, and very helpful with advice and suggestions. She even gave us a ride from the airport!!! We were so grateful. We were two, non attached adults traveling together and had plenty of space. I loved the loft bed in the second room. That said, I think the apartment might be tight for more than one couple. It was perfect for us though! Thanks again Eugenia.
