Ocean breeze villa with exceptional view
If you are looking for an open air villa surrounded by flowers, with a view of the ocean while you enjoy slightly chilled rose wine and appetizers this is the spot!Without a car, you can walk 20 minutes down a gradual slope to the local shopping mall. At the end of the street , you have the option to walk 212 stairs down and 212 stairs up inlaid mosaic stairs with local roosters, chickens, and cats accompanying you.. A 10 minute walk gets you to the core of Fort de France.With a car it is easy access to the highway and all of Martinique. Once the gate closes behind you , the gardens, view and breeze are a welcome relief after a busy day of sightseeing.The owners are so responsive , while being respectful of your privacy. Full kitchen to make meals and very comfortable sectional couch for relaxing in the evenings. Watch the cruise ships, catamarans , and sailboats glide in and out of the bay. Just remember you are in the city limits so expect city noise from time to time.An excellent villa for a family get together spot and jumping off point to explore the island.Merci, thank you for an unforgettable month long stay!

A beautiful view, a lovely home, and perfect hosts!
We stayed 14 days in this beautiful property. It was exactly as depicted, but even better!!! The veranda and garden area were so lovely and peaceful. It is a perfect place to enjoy the warm Martinique nights, beautiful sunsets, or breakfast overlooking the bay. The inside living area was spacious, with a large living/dining room, large bedrooms, and a stocked kitchen. Thierry and Marie-Jose were terrific hosts. Although we got lost getting there (OUR fault!), Marie-Jose was patient enough to help us navigate to the property and greeted us warmly. They were so helpful with suggestions on what to see on the island and spoke English very well. There are great day trips to St. Pierre, Balata Garden, and Les Trios-Ilets. Short jaunts to the city center to see the Schoelcher Library and other museums and enjoy local fare for lunch. We recommend renting a car if you stay here. My father loved the property so much that he wanted to stay another week by the time we left. We wish we were back in Martinique now. Thank you, Thierry and Marie-Jose, for your warm hospitality and beautiful property; we hope to return soon!!

Superbe séjour à Fort de France
Tout d'abord, les propriétaires sous-estiment probablement la valeur de leur propriété. Nous avions une vue panoramique à 180 degrés sur toute la ville de Fort-de-France, avec le Fort Saint-Louis juste en face, les bateaux de croisière en premier plan, et la cathédrale Saint-Louis légèrement à gauche. Perchés sur notre colline, nous pouvions rejoindre le centre-ville à pied en moins de 10 minutes.Nous avons passé 9 nuits dans cette résidence. Les lits sont très confortables et tous équipés de filets anti-moustiques. Le stationnement est privé et sécurisé. Il peut sembler un peu audacieux d'entrer et sortir selon les standards nord-américains, mais on s'y habitue rapidement !Le seul inconvénient : nous avons dû laisser un dépôt assez important en espèces à notre arrivée, ce que nous n'avions pas prévu avant notre départ. Nous n'étions pas très à l'aise de confier de l'argent liquide en dehors du service de réservation. Il est important de bien lire le contrat envoyé par les propriétaires après la réservation sur VRBO pour déterminer si cela vous convient. Je n'avais pas remarqué ce détail.Très bien situé au centre de l'île, nous pouvions rejoindre les Salines ou le Mont Pelé en moins d'une heure.

Comfortable, Indoors and Out
We spent ten nights here at the end of January 2024 with another couple. The listing's photos accurately depict a very comfortable indoor/outdoor space, high up enough to catch cooling breezes and afford a scenic view of the bay. It was our first visit to Martinique and the central location made it easy to explore the entire island. Our host Thierry was helpful with advice and assistance. We would definitely stay there again.

Super, À 4 min du centre-ville en voiture ( je recommande la voiture car nous sommes dans la montagne) la maison a une vue magnifique. Les hôtes sont très gentil et nous ont suggéré plusieurs place. Family vacation
A wonderful place, perfect for joining family. Great view and a very relaxing home to settle into. A long walk, many steps to the town, ferry and beach for us 80+ year olds, but we made it, on at least 6 different occasions. Lots of fun in the process and always very nice to come back to such a lovely, restful place. Thank you.

Endroit idéal en Martinique
Plusieurs points qui doivent être signalés mais la plus importante est la courtoisie des propriétaires. Ils répondaient à nos messages immédiatement et même à quelques reprises se sont déplacés pour venir nous aider. L’endroit est très bien situé, si vous avez une voiture, à quelques minutes d’un centre d’achats avec une épicerie où vous pouvez trouver tout ce dont vous avez besoin et aussi près de l’autoroute pour aller du nord au sud et à l’est de l’île. Le stationnement privé est un atout considérable. La vue sur le port de FDF est super belle et c’est toujours agréable de manger sur la terrasse et de voir les oiseaux venir se poser sur les fleurs qui encadrent les terrasses. Nous recommandons fortement cette maison et remercions chaleureusement monsieur et madame Gertrude de leur chaleureux accueil.

Fabulous apartment with a view!
What a great place! We loved all the outdoor space and the wonderful view of the harbour. The three bedroom flat had more than ample room for our family - two adult children, plus an uncle - to relax and each have their own space. The apartment is within a short walking distance of shops and restaurants in the centre of town, as well as the ferry which will take you over to the beaches at Anse Mitan. Communication with Marie-José was super easy and check-in was a breeze. Our hosts were wonderful and made sure that we had everything we needed. We loved the fact that there was a spot to park our rental car. If I go back to Martinique, I would stay here again, in a heartbeat and I highly recommend that you do too! Quel super endroit! Nous avons adoré la terrace et les jardins ainsi que la vue magnifique sur le port. L'appartement de trois chambres était assez spacieux pour notre famille - deux enfants adultes et un oncle - pour se détendre et chacun avait son propre espace. L'appartement se trouve à une courte distance de marche des commerces et restaurants du centre-ville, ainsi que du ferry qui vous emmènera sur les plages de l'Anse Mitan. La communication avec Marie-José était super facile et le check-in aussi. Nos hôtes étaient merveilleux et se sont assurés que nous avions tout ce dont nous avions besoin. Nous avons adoré le fait qu'il y avait une place pour garer notre voiture de location. Si je retourne en Martinique, j'y reviendrais sans hésiter et je vous recommande fortement de le faire aussi !

A beautiful home overlooking a beautiful harbour! Thierry was an exceptional host, meeting us upon arrival, answering all of our questions and easing our early departure due to the Covid19 pandemic. We would highly recommend this wonderful place for future holidays, once life regains its balance!

Belle grande maison, très propre, bien située et avec une vue sur la Baie de Fort-de-France
Nous avons passé un mois dans cette propriété et avons grandement apprécié notre séjour. Les propriétaires ont été à la fois discrets, mais également très disponibles dès que nous avions besoin d’un renseignement ou toute autre chose. Nous pouvions aller en ville à pieds et profiter des activités qui s’y déroulent, musique, restaurants, marchés, etc... c’était parfait!

A Breathtaking View in a lovely home on a magnificent Island!
What an amazing trip! The property is so lovely and the view is so peaceful. We opened the house up and sat on the Veranda and soaked up the atmosphere. Whether we were having coffee in the morning watching the Cruise ship dock or Having cocktails in the evening, we couldn’t get enough of the view! The landlord and his family were so helpful with giving us tips of where the local shops, markets and restaurants. This made our journeys out much easier. They speak English very well and of course French. Being American we were afraid we would have trouble without speaking French but we did very well and almost always someone would interpret if we were stuck. If you are a Rum enthusiast as we are. Please don’t miss all the Rum distilleries. The beaches are amazing of course so make time to visit them more than once I do recommend renting an automatic car and not a manual. It is much easier to navigate that way. We got home and the first thing we said was we wish we were back. We hope to return again soon!!!

Spacious apartment with a glorious view
The view overlooking the bay and town is gorgeous, just as in the picture. We especially enjoyed the view while having breakfast on our own private terrace. The apartment has a spacious living room, large bedrooms and a kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. Wth 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms even large family could feel comfortable here. We would definitely recommend renting a car if you stay here. The location is excellent for exploring the island. We visited the Balata Garden and Le Francois - both within a half hour drive. There is also a ferry to go across the bay. Thierry and his wife are a wonderful hosts, always available to answer our questions or offer advise. French is a struggle for us, but they speak excellent English. Our plane arrived late, but they were there to greet us, offer us a snack, and even show us that they had stocked the kitchen with food for our first breakfast!

Tres bon séjour, la vie se passe essentiellement sur les différentes terrasses qui offrent des moments exceptionnels grâce à la vue sur la baie de Fort de France. L'intérieur a du charme grâce à sa décoration qui temoigne de son histoire familiale. Thierry et Marie Josée sont réactifs mais tres discrets et charmants.Un excellent séjour dans cette maison !

Ma sœur et moi avons passé un très bon séjour avec notre mère. La villa était jolie , spacieuse bien ventilée et sécurisée.
