The house could be great, but needs maintenance work (no hot water the last 24 hours of our stay) and lacks a few basic amenities like microwave and TV.

Another great stay
We have been booking this property twice a year for the last five years. It has always been excellent. We were very disappointed to see it has been taken off the website. I pray the new owners will continue to list the property.

Spacious!
Needed a 4 bedroom to accommodate my all-male family outing and this now then met our needs. Nicely appointed and the master bedroom was quite special! Loved it and will be back.

Quiet Neighborhood
1. All but about two chairs in the house needs to be replaced. 2. Food left in the refrigerator. and cabinets. 3. Had to leave the trash exposed; both trash cans in the back yard were full. 4. Asked about a BBQ Grill; was told there is none, but there is a new one in the back yard. 5. Asked about a burn pit and was told there was none due to all the burn bans. There was a burn ban, but there was also a burn pit in the back yard. 6. No indication that there were dishes, pots, pans, etc, except for the picture on the web page, but there were lots of them (so we brought ours in vain). 7. Closet in the Master Bedroom was locked (and we needed it). 8. Light in the Master did not work. 9. Host phone number was not provided. 10. Step bannisters in front, full of splinters. 11. Probably nothing can be done, but the floors in the Master Bedroom and bathroom squeak and squawk to high heaven. 12. Back yard was unusable due to weeds and un-mowed grass.

Fun but Different
As the previous reviews show, this property won't suit everyone. We expected to have 9 at the house, but in the midst of the airline meltdown of 2022, my son and his family sadly did not make it. It probably would have been crowded, especially since the advertised futon was actually not present (along with the welcoming bottle of wine and the coffee). But the house was comfortable enough for the 5 of us and for the other family members who visited the first evening we were there. The random opened and partially used food in the frig and elsewhere was disconcerting, though having a few spices was helpful. What was very amusing was that everywhere we looked there was something broken: yard lamps in front, weather stripping hanging under the door, a lamp missing a leg, a ceiling light that didn't turn on, broken cup handle, gas range that worked but didn't have a low setting, coffee maker with broken lid hinges, two closets with lots of broken chairs and at least one more broken lamp. But there were plenty of dishes, silverware, glasses, mugs, and Terri was always responsive and helpful, so it was a good stay on the whole.

Great find in Fort Davis
We were very happy to find this property, as we had a larger group and there are not many options in Fort Davis. Beautiful house on edge of town and perfect for some star gazing as well.

Disappointed
Your photos of your home certainly did not match what we saw. When we contacted you, you said that you would take care of the torn sheets, but nothing changed. Threadbare and torn sheets, questionable blanket/comforters, mattresses were extremely uncomfortable in the master, which is where my guests stayed. How embarrassing for me to see their discomfort. The other beds were just as uncomfortable. I used my own pillow and comforter because I didn’t even want to look at what was under that comforter in the back bedroom. Despite hard water, your secondary bathroom was filthy. Both toilets were dirty, blue stuff doesn’t clean toilets. The shower had hair surrounding the drain and on the floor of the shower. Refrigerator with condiments was deplorable. The only positive was the stunning sun rise that we saw.

Great stay in Fort Davis!
We had a great stay with our family in Fort Davis! The house is a great location and easy to get to and from hikes, swimming, and anywhere for a quick drive. We enjoyed hanging out on the porch watching the sunset and unwinding.

Fabulous West Texas Getaway
We loved our stay here! Very clean, decorated nicely with modern touches and well stocked. We never had any issues whatsoever- very easy in & out. Great location for all the favorite spots in and around Fort Davis! Our only complaint is that one of the beds had very little support so that the middle sunk in a bit. A small thing though - we would definitely recommend this property to family & friends!

Less than satisfactory
Things were not as advertised. many things were broken: blinds missing remote for fan and light missing cabinet door front banister was not secure right side bathroom sink in master bathroom was not attached to counter top and the water faucet did not work. small holes in the front door where we could see light and feel air come through. Shower curtain rod was not attached and hit me in the head. we paid for cleaning and had to clean when we arrived and clean when we left. House was filthy: sinks toilets showers floors spoke to a neighbor who said the house was not supposed to be leased out by property laws in Fort Davis. The caregiver showed up with the police because someone told them we had a break in. We paid insurance for breakage and when we arrived things were already broken. Spoke with property manager and asked for things to be rectified. All she told me was sorry you were unhappy. Thank you for the reminder about the banister. I have photos and the conversation with property owner to verify. We were told in description that a bottle of wine will be chilled waiting for you. we got there and there were 2 bottles of half drunk wine. When we mentioned to property owner she said that was never said. I then forwarded her the photo of the description where it clearly stated about the wine. She never even responded to that! If this is what VRBO is, we will not be using you for rentals. Thank you, Priscilla Barclay

Nice get away home.
We really enjoyed getting away from TV and city lights. The kitchen was very nice and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay, cooking, playing games and the local beauty. There was one small issue of sitting area comfort. The seating was not comfortable and limited. We spent most of our time at dining table and bedrooms. A comfy sofa and soft chairs would have enhanced our stay. Outdoor furniture on the porch would have been nice to watch the sunsets.

Fort Davis trip
Hot water did not work in master bath shower. It worked everywhere else. We did not contact the owner because we did not want to be disturbed by workers. Home was a restored double - wide mobile home. Relaxing decor, comfortable beds and convenient to the locations we planned to visit with our family. Home had lots of single chairs, (old/antique) not very comfortable, no where to put feet up and relax except on the beds. At times it like we were sitting in a waiting room. No Tv's or other media which for us grandparents was heaven! Kitchen restored nicely but NO microwave. We had not planned to cook. Lots of food in cabinets, well stocked - not our preference especially the out of date items plus open wine bottles on the counter. We never recieved notification information from Vrbo but the owner messaged and gave us the codes we needed. The owner answered promptly and friendly to our messages, A suggestion for this home would to include an visitor info book that folks can refer to. i.e. did we need to strip the beds and put sheets on washer, what about trash etc?
