Food terrible
The staff were friendy the room was clean. As for the food it was basic no offer of food or bar menu for lunch the lunch menu i think was used for evening dinner the choices were basic not that well presented and not realy enjoyable chips instead of potatoes and veg food was over salted especialy the chips . we kept getting told all evening it was a staff shortage no one would take drink order they point blank refused and we waited over half an hour for what was sub standared food and waited a further 45 min for offer of a sweet we gave up and left. This was a special family event for us we had to go to eat in another hotel the fallowing evening which had far better choices and it was a very enjoyable evening. Unfortunalty i would never use the calladonian hotel again and for 5 people it wasnt cheep . I whould however like to say the front of house staff were very plesent considering the awful stuff comming out of the kitchen .

Location is great, but the hotel is run down and not much care is given to rooms, decor, etc. Food was average at best. For the price, expected a lot better.

Rude hotel staff
Very bad service and rude hotel staff. Especially the ones serving breakfast. They literally removed all food while we were still eating without informing us.

Excellent location. Friendly staff. Nice loch view from the room, but it was obstructed by scaffolding. Bathroom very small but shower system was excellent. Food not clearing marked to meet dietary requirements such as vegetarian or vegan etc.

We left as soon as we saw the room. Windows with chipped wood and peeling paint , view of scaffolding with a tarp 5 feet from the window and an industrial sized dumpster with construction debris 8 feet from window. The dumpster was at least 15 feet in length. The room was smelly . We drove an additional 75 miles to get another room at a diff hotel. Manager was gracious enough not to charge us for the second night but we forfeited the cost of the first night . I think if a hotel is renovating , it should sectioned off a block of rooms where the work is done . It almost ruined our vacation

The hotel looked tired. Not enough parking spaces so I had to park around the back, the next morning a builder reversed his car into mine and has ruined my holiday as I'm constantly trying to deal with insurance companies who say I've got to use my Insurance excess and lose my protected no claims discount next year. So annoying

Don’t stay here!
Stay away from this place! This rooms were tiny and the mattresses horrible. The finishes and fraying carpet from the 1940s. Their business practices corrupt. They wanted to charge more for a room than hotels said it would for 2 people claiming they had no privy to what our deal was. In all of Scotland, this was the only horrid place.

Building was in a very tired stake. Bedroom furniture was in good condition but bathroom was poorly maintained ,door was broken Mastic around skirtings and shower door and bath was done by a 5 year old. Corridor and stair case were in poor condition. I don’t normally leave any reviews but I was disappointed with this Hotel

Unfortunately, once the city bus dropped us off we were basically stranded since we were early for check-in. Nothing in walking distance and no city bus to take back. Thank goodness they did allow us to drop off our backpacks behind the receptionist desk. The room had a horrible urine smell probably from dogs/cats and I couldn't bear the smell, so no sleep. Squeaky floors and the place needs updating. Limited food/drinks. Paid for breakfast, but had to leave earlier for the train, before it was served. If I have to find anything good it would be the lake across the street.

Disheartening
Our sign in experience was quite unpleasant, the room we were assigned smelled terribly of damp. On the second day we asked for a room change a was reassigned a different room straight away. Quietly I was glad to sign out on the day we left - not a great experience.
