Disgusted with the owner
We arrived at the hotel around 20:45 , one of the conditions was to inform the hotel if you were arriving after 8pm prior to arrival which we did weeks before. The gates were shut and the taxi man called the number on the gate - no answer . Two neighbours heard us knocking and shouting to try to attract the attention of the hotelier and they managed to gain access in to the grounds. The place was empty and dark (even though our dates showed fully booked) , My husband followed the neighbours into the unlocked accommodation and it looked abandoned .There were clothes and shoes thrown everywhere
, the freezer doors were wide open and cats eating off dirty cooking utensils and the remnants of cooked food . We were at the hotel for over half an hour , thankfully our taxi driver had stayed with us and he drove us to a hotel in Forteleza. We had paid in full for a 2 night stay at the Barbanera Hotel and have received a very rude email since from the hotelier wishing us "good luck" for a refund .**** DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL ****** .
