The Maple Cottage - WALK TO BEACH / LAKE MICHIGAN!

This is a beautifully decorated and very well cared-for home in a great location just a few blocks from downtown Frankfort, Frankfort Beach, and Lake Michigan. The location is also very quiet and safe! It has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a full-size kitchen, a dining room, a washer and dryer, a backyard deck with dining table and chairs, a new propane grill, and a very nice backyard with a backyard fire ring and chairs. It is truly an exceptional home that provides for a great vacation!
I live in Frankfort and am available as needed.
Frankfort has a beautiful Main Street that runs along Betsie Lake and ends at Frankfort Beach and Lake Michigan. The vibrant downtown has lots of shops, cafes, and restaurants to explore. The house is located just north of downtown. It is about a 5 minute walk to downtown Frankfort, Frankfort Beach, and Lake Michigan from the house. The house is also just a 20-minute drive from the start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Guests have access to the entire house, except for the basement which is locked off for storage of personal items.
In terms of technology, the home is equipped with 400 Mbps high-speed Wi-Fi. There is also a newer Roku television with live digital streaming. Hulu provides the equivalent of cable channels and Pure Flix, Netflix, Disney+, and HBOMax are available on the television as well.

​The house is available for rent year-round as it has a forced-air furnace using nature gas. Although it does not have air-conditioning, this vacation home generally stays pleasantly cool in the summer given its proximity to Lake Michigan. There are also lots of fans in the house (including one in each bedroom) if needed. There are It is truly an exceptional home in a fantastic location for exploring Frankfort, Lake Michigan, and all that northwest Michigan has to offer!
The Benzie Bus does provide public transportation, but it is recommended to have your own vehicle.

Nice place!
The house was clean. The neighborhood was quiet. I lost track of time on the way there and the manager reached out with the door code, so getting into the house was easy. My only complaint would be that the beds have seen better days. They are kind of squishy and sink in the middle. It was a great place to stay with an easy drive to two lighthouses and several beaches. I would stay there again.

Great up north vacation
This was a great place to stay. The house was very nice. I really liked the deck and backyard. The deck and backyard gave me a very relaxing up north feeling. It was an easy drive to downtown Frankfort and Lake Michigan. It was also a very easy short drive to Sleeping Bear National Park. I would love to return to Frankfort on another up north vacation.

Week Stay at Maple Cottage
The property manager, Jean was fantastic! She was readily available to answer questions and arrange for repair service within 24 hours (leak under kitchen sink). The ranch style cottage is located in a quiet neighborhood and is within walking distance to town. It requires the ability to walk down/up a steep winding hill, but there is an off road path. The kitchen is stocked fairly well with dishes, cutlery, and cookware. The back yard is shaded with a ground level deck. A gas grill is available for use. Plenty of room for dogs to roam. Plenty of clean towels, linens, etc available for use. The house does not have an air conditioner, but it is rarely needed. The major drawback of the cottage is the poor condition of the mattresses in each of the three bedrooms. The two queen mattresses are both well used, forming places that sink, making a good nights sleep impossible. The two twin mattresses do not have any box springs (it is a trundle bed), making it very difficult for an adult to sleep comfortably. Please note that the overall rating of 2 stars is only due to the condition of all of the mattresses (causing back pain and lack of sleep). If the mattresses had been adequate, the overall rating would easily have been 5 stars.

Lovely getaway
This space was perfect for our family of teenagers and dog. Enough space for everyone in a quiet neighborhood, very very clean, and a seamless check-in and check-out process. Our host made us feel welcome and the space was well appointed with sheets and towels. Definitely would stay here again.

Nice quiet location after busy days. Close to beach, town, and lighthouses and major areas of interest. Nice home with open floor plan, nice yard, kitchen well stocked for cooking and bbq. Outside of home needs exterminator. Screens on windows for which their missing need replaced.

Lovely Up North Cottage
We had a lovely time in Frankfort. The cottage was clean, well furnished and close to the beach. The fire pit, grill, and washer/dryer were nice additions. This rental could be improved by having a hair dryer, and towel racks in the bathrooms.

Lovely House Close to Everything
The Maple St. house was very comfortable and well-stocked. We loved the walk down to the beach, though the hike up could be tough for some. It's just a 3 minute drive to the beach and there's plenty of parking if you go early. The yard is lovely and allowed us to entertain some family staying elsewhere on the deck and by the fire.

Just what we were looking for
The house was perfect for our needs and fabulous for walking to the beach, shops, & ice cream while at the same time being off the beaten path and quiet. The only negative was that the property manager never responded to our calls for planning purposes, or when we were in route. The owner was very responsive and we would stay there again!

This house was a great home base for us to drive down to the beach or town (about a 2 minute drive) and also take some trips farther north. The kids loved the toy box! The house had all we needed to feel we were at home and comfortable. It was a quiet street as well.

it was a nice house. well equipped with cooking ware, pots and pans, plates, silverware. there's laundry detergent. 10 minute walk to the beach and maybe 15 to downtown. 10 min drive to a nearby grocery store. only thing we were surprised about is that it was right next to a nursing home facility, we didn't catch that in the property description.
