We arrived at 3:00 for check-in, contacted owner for lock-code. They replied that the space was still being cleaned and that we should come back at 4:00. We used the time to shop for food for the week. At 4:00, still no code, but cleaning person let us in. We put our groceries in the fridge. In the morning we found that the refrigerator wasn’t working. We let the owners know about the problem, they said they had provided a mini-fridge, (totally inadequate for our needs.) We asked them to call out a repair person, they said that it could not be repaired. Which means that they knew it didn’t work but didn’t tell us until after we moved in and our perishable food was ruined. It took them four days, with Vrbo’s intervention, to replace the fridge.
I had asked them before we rented if there was an outdoor grill, they affirmed this. I bought charcoal and a chimney starter, opened the Weber, and there was no grate upon which to grill.
A few days later I woke at 5: 00 am to find that the toilet was clogged. I called the owners and a management company whose number was provided in the orientation book, which mentioned that we could get a response within an hour. By noon, we had heard nothing from them and we packed up and left, several days early, forfeiting the rental for those days just glad to be out of there.
