Laurel’s Log Lodge is a spacious 4 bedroom/3.5 bath home is perfect for groups of all types… friends, families, ladies’ getaways, golfers, historians, explorers, wedding goers, gamers, 
hikers, relaxers and the list goes on! The home offers two large bedrooms on the upper level each with a queen bed, TV, and sitting area. There is one full bath on this level and a loft with desk and printer for your use. The main level hosts the master suite with king bed, TV, and private full bath. Also on the main floor is a living/gathering room, kitchen and dining area, and half bath. The lower level features a bedroom with queen bed and TV, full bath, and recreation area including billiards and ping pong, game table, kids play area, and a TV lounge with large screen TV. Just outside the recreation area is a large outdoor deck with room to spread out and enjoy nature at it’s finest. Up a few stairs and enter the screened porch for an all-season hot tub experience! Large Fire Pit to gather around each evening!
This home is a seven-minute drive to the Galena Territory Association Owners’ Club and all it’s fabulous amenities! On your way to enjoying the many Owners’ Club activities such as indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, large game room, gym, tennis, basketball and pickleball courts, stop and have a peek at Thunder Bay Falls. If there has been recent rain the falls may just be gushing!
Within the Galena Territory you can enjoy the day or an hour if that is all you have to spare, on Lake Galena! Fishing boats, pontoon boats, and kayaks are seasonally available for rental from the marina. The lake offers great fishing, beautiful vistas, and incredible bird and waterfowl watching. Or head over to the Shenandoah Riding Center where there is an array of fun opportunities including trails rides, lead rides for young beginners, and special events throughout the year.
A ten-minute drive will have you on Galena’s historic downtown Main Street where you can shop, dine, join a tour or activity, indulge in beer or wine tastings, learn a variety of different crafts, spend the day being pampered at a local spa, or just people watch the day away!

Accommodations were as listed. Home had plenty of beds for 7. Clean and cozy. We took advantage of the hot tub and grilled dinner in one night. Check in/out was easy. Response time to our inquiries was quick. Would definitely recommend.

Wonderful Getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this Galena home. The teenagers and adults really enjoyed the ping pong table and arcade game. Plenty of room for all of us. Check in process was easy and upfront communication was great. Two suggestions, based on our family preferences only, would be to add a TV to the main floor living room. We enjoy cooking together while watching sporting events. Secondly, a couple of the beds were firmer than we prefer. Neither items were issues… only suggestions. Thanks!

10/5/23-10/8/23 Long-time high school friends and their spouses met for a long weekend get-together. The home is recently updated and has enough room for the nine of us to get lost in. From the fire pit, to the hot tub (we ordered a water truck to refill it), to the pool table and PacMan, games for the kids and partially inebriated but safe adults, the huge breakfast table, TV's everywhere (HULU subscription might be a nice touch), plenty of amenities (towels, linens, toiletries, garbage bags, appliances (maybe an upgrade to some simple newer pots and pans), a barbeque grille with an extra propane tank and a large porch and wooden decks to socialize throughout. We did survive the continuous thunderstorm of acorn nut droppings from all the area oak trees. Just a short drive into Galena for all that the town has to offer. Plenty of nature available to see, including navigating around wayward turkeys and cows while driving through the rolling hills (It took us Chicagoans a few moments to confirm a bat sighting but we’re happy that a result of having one around meant there were no flying bugs to deal with). The scenic views remind you that Illinois is definitely not all that flat and has plenty to look at. This location would be suitable for visiting year-round. We would definitely consider returning for a reunion. This property was perfect for our girls weekend in Galena. The house was clean and had plenty of room for all 9 of us girls. The hot tub and the fire pit were absolutely amazing and we spent a lot of time there! We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again!

Amazing Cabin in Galena Territory
The house was just as described. Proximity to the owners club and downtown Galena was perfect. Great get away home for the family. Kids had a blast playing with the toys and enjoying the bonfire at night.

40th Birthday Getaway
We stayed here for my 40th birthday, family getaway. The cabin was pleasantly stocked with everything we needed and then some. The pictures and description is very accurate from what we experienced. Our family of 5 enjoyed ending our evenings in the hot tub off the lower deck and lighting a fire in the living room fireplace. The host provided seasoned firewood off the driveway which was a plus. Not pictured is an outdoor fire pit. Although we didn’t get a chance to use it, it looked nice as well. We would definitely look into returning to this rental when we come back to Galena.

This is a house with everything!! Beautiful location. We spent our family Christmas here and the kids loved everything that there was to do on the property. It was extremely cold out with negative wind chills but the kids loved going to the club and spending time in the pool. The property manager was extremely helpful before we got there telling us what the area had to offer and even when we were there and had an issue. Extremely responsive to all questions and issues. We definitely want to visit again.

Galena family celebration
We were there to Celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. There were 7 adults and a two yr old. The House is very nice and a Great location In the territory. Layout worked out great for us. We did not use the hot tub but the pool /ping pong table was terrific along with the kids toys for the 2yr old. Well stocked kitchen was great as had most meals at the house. Communication was excellent with trail vacations (Kristen) prior to arrival— had no issues during our stay so didn’t need to have any communication while we were there. One thing — There is a cooler but was filthy dirty as was left outside. It Wasn’t an issue for us as we did bring our own . But had we depended on it would not have been happy to clean it. The basement deck/ furniture is very nice… looked new. One thing that would have been nice would have been a screen in porch as the wasps/bees were bad in late Aug so didn’t sit out with drinks/food . But we were aware that there wasn’t one. Would definitely come back but probably at time when wasps re not in season.

Ginger and Kristine were very helpful! Our water heater wasn’t functioning properly and they immediately intervened! We did have some issues with regulation of the temperature of our house we rented in the hot summer. They assisted with fans and adjusting some vents. We loved our rental log house! Everyone had a great time. Ginger and Kristine were great!

We had a wonderful time! The cabin was super clean and everything the description said it would be. The scenery was beautiful. I do recommend meal planning because there is nothing close by or delivery. Our Wi-Fi didn’t work the first night, but Kristen was very helpful and got it to work! She kept us updated on the progress and worked very efficiently to fix it. The hot tub was great, love the netting saved us from many mosquitoes!
