Couples Secret Getaway
This property is just as it is explained it had everything we needed. It may not be on the beach however, this spot was in a great location and within walking distance to the strand, I think 2 blocks. Awesome place for couples who are looking for a getaway, just for themselves. Cozy, fun, convenient and comfortable.

Great location for the Strand
Overall, the loft was fit our needs for attending Dickens on the Strand very well. The pictures are an exact match to reality. We both felt that all the furniture was meant for very light people and couldn't use the eating table at all. What we loved - the size of the shower. Absolutely huge. Also, everything was clean and in it's place. Accessing the exterior door and then the loft door was easy. What we didn't love - the uneven stairs leading to the upper floor. We realize it's a historic building, but the handrail could be tightened up. The stairs felt a bit dangerous with baggage and going up/down in long skirts. Most of the wear appeared to be on the side with the rail. Some suggestions - additional blankets and pillows, removing "oven" and "desk" from the amenities as neither of these are present in the loft. Can some glow tape or something be added to emphasize the step into and out of the bathroom? We had to leave a bathroom light on all night. Regarding electric outlets, there was an empty outlet on the wall the TV is on, the outlet above the sink, and an outlet in the bathroom. Overall, for a small group, this is perfect for exploring the Strand.

Loved this little cozy spot! The pictures look exactly like the property. We stay in Galveston often and this is by far the most convenient location! The apartment had everything we needed for a 2 stay night stay. What to expect ā€“ safe area, historic property, street parking. You will access into the building next to downstairs businessā€™s with stairs that lead up to your loft. If you are looking for a fun, relaxed spot, Iā€™d recommend this place!

Last Minute Booking
We were having a terrible time at a local "big resort" and wanted to salvage/finish our vacation elsewhere. Looked on vrbo and found the perfect place for myself and 2 girls. Super cute little loft. Love the Strand area, so this was any easy choice. Just as described. Easy parking in front, walk to stores and restaurants. Only downside was the amount of stairs. We had a lot of luggage. Other than that we highly recommend!

The good - great location! Right in the heart of the strand. The reason for my 3 star review is that there is only one outlet in which you can actually plug something in the entire living room, kitchen/bed area. (not counting behind the TV where they are both being used and the outlet where the microwave pushed against it and plugged in there). The outlet is directly behind the sink. I use a cpap machine at night, you have to run a cord over the sink and you need at extension cord to reach the bed. Also, communication was so-so. Property manager was supposed to check on the lighting and never followed up with it. There is an outer door, which lets you into all the units ā€” this door has been broken into, the jamb is missing wood and the door does not lock all the time. Garbage - no where to put your garbage!!! They tell you to take your trash with you but do not give you a location to put it.

Extremely loud drunks came in @ 2am -4:30am Sunday am. Lack of sleep due to drunks all hours awful.
Dirty pillows cases. Turn the pillow case over youā€™ll be shocked. Address the issue with management their reply. Did I look for extra pillow in the closet. No apologies or answer my question, how are they going to resolve the issue. I would never pay $664 for two night again. Further guest beware! Parking is limited. BTW I even submitted picture of the filthy pillow case & no reply:

Leak
The air conditioner was leaking so bad that water was dripping on bed and floor. I cleaned up the kitchen floor, picked up wet rugs, and had to move bed a foot away from wall. Very hard to sleep with water dripping in trash all night. Owner never offered to discount or anything. Sofa bed is very uncomfortable. Our daughter and her friend felt springs in their backs all night.

I picked the BeachBox Vrbo based on the pics on my phone. I thought it would be smaller. Think studio apartment with a nice, big shower. The host was also helpful when we wanted to extend our stay. All around exceeded all of our expectations and gave us a cozy home base while we toured around Galveston
