Excellent harbour view Hotel
Excellent harbour view hotel in Gozo. We have stayed here before and is very close to the ferry terminal. A very good experience. The lady cleaning our room even thanked us for staying there. Fantastic views, super pool with lots of space and beds to lie on. Room had balcony, bath and shower,TV with some English channels, kettle with coffe and tea. We had a minor issue with WiFi on one day but otherwise worked well. Good breakfast buffet. Garage a bit tricky to get into. A lovely stay.

We had a beautiful room on the top floor with full view of the harbour and sea. A special mention for our room cleaner Ramesh who was fantastic and always so friendly. Would recommend hiring a car if staying here so you can get about as not that much going on in the area. Gozo is beautiful and so much to see There was issues with some rowdy behaviour from a group of guests but they left after two days to go home, personally I think they should have removed them as it was disgusting constant drunken behaviour and very noisy. Many guests ended up leaving because of this. The car park is handy but a hazard getting in and out of it, very steep and tight. I stayed with my 12 year old son we had a great time but not many other kids around here, that may suit some better however.

This hotel is great value for money, its staff, food and facilities and location are all excellent. However our stay coincided with Abode, a music festival which takes place every June. The hotel was full of young people, who were loud and intimidating and took over the pool, smoking and drinking and playing music. The hotel responded by providing a security guard, but this definitely spoiled our holiday. Secondly, we were in the new extension. Beautiful view and room, but access only seemed to be by lift and the fire exit at one end of the corridor did not work. I pushed the door and it is blocked. It did not instil confidence! I complained to reception and it was reported, but unfortunately no action was taken and it was unresolved. This is worrying in the extreme. Guests - check the fire escape route!!

Building work in front of hotel was a bit of an eyesore however I do appreciate this is only a temporary situation. Tiles In corridor on floor 3 needed some attention as well. However overall I enjoyed the experience at the grand !

Excellent location next to the port. All staff were fantastic and friendly, the receptionist who checked us in was wonderful. Free parking but a bit hair raising getting up the slope. Breakfast was plentiful and I enjoyed the variety. The roof top bar was superb and the cocktails were amazing!! The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The hotel is a bit dated in places but renovations were on going. Both pools were fab as well. I would stay here again.

The stay was amazing, the choice of breakfast items was great, the room was very clean, staff was friendly and efficient. The hotel is situated in a very strategic area for those opting to go to Gozo without a car.

Hotel is a mix of old and new. Patrons will need a couple of days to get used to the layout since signs are a bit sparse. Rooms on the top floors with the sea view are spacious and bathrooms are complete with a bath and shower. Breakfast was good and can get quite busy. In all stay was enjoyable.

Room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed but public areas were a bit tired. Had breakfast one morning which was very average, not nearly as good as it was when we last stayed here several years ago. Hotel was quiet at night but there was building work in progress (seems a permanent feature at the Grand!) which made it impossible to relax in the hotel during the day. Staff were helpful and polite but communication was an issue, not just with the guests but with each other, due to the mix of nationalities and poor English (the only common language). Despite the above we enjoyed our stay.

A Grand Time!
Hotel is conveniently located and we got it at a good price which was most important. If the prices climb I’d go for one of the top notch hotels on the island instead but if the price is reasonable I’ll return. Pool was nice with a great view just a bit chilly. Didn’t do spa or rooftop BBQ so can’t comment on those. Breakfast had all your basics and was good. Gym was dismal and tiny, didn’t use it at all, definitely need an upgrade there and a gym of a decent size for such a large hotel. Wifi wasn’t the best, kept going in and out and it was a working vacation for me so that was annoying. Some rooms get all day food/cooking odors from the restaurant next door. Gozo isn’t totally ruined yet, but not what it used to be just a few years ago, sad to see. Internet “influencers” definitely ruining the travel industry with overexposure.
