Lilybank is full of character and has available 2 bedrooms , 2 bathroom ,living room , conservatory and garden/ driveway. . The cottage was built in 1781 (one the oldest in the village) and forms part of the “Killearn history trail” . The cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Killearn in the foothills of the Campsie Fells -the area a setting for numerous movie productions .
This area was also used for various location settings in the hit series - "Outlander" . We are 10 minutes from film location - Devils pulpit .
The cottage -There are 2 bedrooms, both with en suite shower/bathrooms(one upstairs with double bed and one downstairs with 2 singles that can be changed to a double bed if required )
The kitchen is well stocked with ingredients and kitchen utensils. There is a large fridge freezer and everhot range cooker, with fitted oak units and granite worktops. The lounge has a very warm coal burning stove.
At the rear of the cottage there is a conservatory leading out onto a large decking area and two tier garden , with grass area , parking for a number of cars , bbq and bike cover.
For your personal safety the property and contents will be rigorously sanitised before each visit. All bedding and towels are washed at 60 degrees.
The area -Killearn is nearby to the Trossachs , Loch Lomond , the West highland way and many other well known points of interest. The historical towns of Stirling , Perth and Edinburgh are a short drive away .
The village itself has a Coop store, an excellent pub and restaurant .There are many other establishments within walking distance or a short drive away. Glengoyne distillery is within walking distance and tours provide an excellent day out.

Golf - Nearby courses are located at Balfron and Drymen .Saint Andrews Old course and the Fife links trail are around 1 hour 30 minutes drive away.There are many world class golf courses to found here.
Cycling- There are many cycle tracks located locally and in the nearby Queen Elizabeth Forrest.Bikes can be hired in Drymen.
Walking and Climbing - Killearn is around 30 minutes drive from Ben Lomond , the most southerly Munro. There are also a number of Munros a short drive north along the banks of Loch Lomond.There are several walking routes around the village and high in the Campsies which overlook the village.
Fishing - by permit on the Endrick River and Lake of Menteith, Loch Lomond.
Shops in the village - chemist/doctor surgery, tea rooms , Hewitt and Aker delicatessen, Panik gallery, Old Mill Inn bar and restaurant.
Transport - hourly bus link to Glasgow ,Stirling.
Food /home delivery - Saffron Tandoori and Balfron chinese situated in Balfron, a 5 minute drive or by home delivery service. There is also a good chip shop in Balfron.
The islands - Arran ferry at Ardrossan is a 1 hour drive away from Killearn. The ferry crossing takes 1 hour . The island can also be accessed via Clonaig ferry on the west coast . This is a lovely scenic drive .
There are many others which can easily be visited in one day from Greenock/Gourock - 45 minute drive from killearn.
Whisky Distilleries- Glengoyne is less than a mile from Killearn . There is a lovely walk through the forrests and hills to get there.
