Excellent Visit
Talk about a great place to escape and enjoy the best things about Maine! Family of four - 7 & 9 yo kids. We were so comfy, the pond was beautiful! Having a fridge was awesome! We will be visiting again!

Wow, gorgeous
We loved our stay here. The cabin was the perfect getaway. It was 100 steps above camping, but rustic enough to get all of the benefits of camping. The water in the pond was warm and clean. We swam and kayaked every day. The breeze kept the bugs away. We met some neighbors while on the pond who were incredibly kind. Other than that, we never saw a soul! Winter harbor was 10 minutes away to get the ferry to Bar Harbor. The ferry was great for sight seeing and the captain and deck hand were incredible. The Schoodic Peninsula was 15-ish minutes away and our favorite part of Acadia. We cannot wait to come back. We feel so lucky to have come to this incredible spot.

Had a great time.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at a rustic house near Acadia, and it was an unforgettable experience. The house itself was charming and cozy, providing the perfect blend of comfort and rustic appeal. The highlight of the stay was the stunning pond right in front of the house. The serene views and the tranquil atmosphere made it a perfect getaway. The location is ideal for nature lovers and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I highly recommend this beautiful retreat for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Beautiful spot
This is a beautiful location. Quiet. A nice place to reflect. It is camping with some perks. Fridge and microwave are nice and a roof over your head. Interior is very clean. Loved the screened in porch to relax in the evening. Port a potty was clean. The dock wasn’t in the water — wasn’t sure if I was supposed to roll it in and out but didn’t use it. It is about an hour to Acadia. I ended up cutting trip short because of weather so never got to make the drive. But did manage to get down to Schoodic Point which is close by. Neat spot. Grabbed dinner at the Pickled Wrinkle. They allowed dogs. A nice little getaway for me and my dog. Overall a nice spot to visit for a couple of days.

Glamping with an awesome view!
The cabin was great! It was a little further from Acadia than we thought, but worked out fine for our short stay. We knew trash removal was our responsibility but struggled to find somewhere to take it. A local told us about stickers and that trash day was Thursday. Great getaway for a rustic experience. Basic and met our needs. We would come back again.

Perfect Maine Getaway
Great solo trip option and completely as advertised. Nice spot for getting to the National Park especially the less explored Schoodic Peninsula but not a taxing drive to Mount Desert Island either. Great small town with several eating options along the main road. Cabin was nice for charging devices and keeping drinks cold and refreezing ice packs. Even the portapotty was clean! Beautiful scenery right on the water, nobody out in the bay when I used the kayak. Would highly recommend this spot if you're looking to disappear and recharge!

Fabulous
This is our second stay. When they say 1 step above camping that is misleading. By that I mean, if you have camped, this is 20 steps above camping. You have a stove, refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. It has a screened porch, a deck and right on the pond. There are lights and outlets to charge phones and there is service for phones! This is better quality then most hotels for the money with the exception of no running water and outside (clean) bathroom. So, if you see this and you are scared as you hate camping, this is NOT camping and is absolutely worth going to.

A dream vacation
I absolutely love staying here! A beautiful view, so peaceful with the lake every morning. It was a save for me with the microwave and stove so I can cook dinner for myself since I didn’t want to rely on the fire for food. A dream solo vacation with just me a dog. Highly recommend!

Fabulous private getaway!!
A classic "upta camp" Maine experience. Private location, but a quick trip to eat out or visit coastal areas. Our dogs had a blast being off leash, swimming, running and playing. If you enjoy camping, you’ll love this. Bring all your supplies and enjoy some peace and quiet! We will definitely book again!

Beautiful Spot
So lucky to get a chance to stay here. The booking and all communication was great. We live in the city, so there is a lot of artificial light that you just can not escape. We were able to go out at night and see every star in the sky, and it was absolutely amazing. Very quiet place in November. We would love to experience the summer now.

So so great!
Another reviewer said the pictures don't do this property justice and I couldn't agree more! It's rustic with no running water, but the interior still provides plenty of space for comfort, with a couch, two chairs, two indoor tables and chairs, and outdoor chairs and a bench by the water as well. The view is the best part. We got there in the evening and woke up to the sun rising and were blown away by the beauty. We slept on the screened in porch and highly recommend that if weather appropriate. The port-a-potty was also very clean. The only thing I'd warn is Google Maps was trying to give us odd directions...just turn right on Lois Lane and go straight and follow down the private drive - it felt like maybe we were on a road we shouldn't be on, no signage for the address, but soon enough there was the port-a-potty and the U-turn at the end of the drive and you know you're there.

It was beyond beautiful. Very close to Acadia National Park, and the night sky here is a must-see. Low light pollution made for stargazing and views that are impossible to come by in the city. 10/10 would recommend

Montana Magic
Imagine a beautiful log cabin that you reach after a 5 mile ride with breathtaking views and plentiful wildlife sightings That is only part of the charm of this destination. The home is perfectly outfitted and the Bear Creek provides background music. I booked the cabin when the government shutdown was looming and I didn’t want to be caught without lodging for our Yellowstone trip. What a piece of luck to find this piece of heaven in Montana!

Perfect for Us
We loved our experience. We had a beautiful time. We are all grateful for our quiet time relaxing and tuning in to nature. We enjoyed the paddle boards, the dock, the deck, the screened in porch, the views, the quietude, and the wood burning stove. We brought blow up beds, bedding, all kitchen stuff, water for drinking and water for cleaning dishes etc.. Well worth it! We bought some groceries at Youngs Market 2 miles away and brought lots of wood. We loved the lake, as well as visiting Schoodic Point, (25 minutes away) Bar Harbor (45 minutes away) and Otter Creek (1 hr away). The first night was very warm, wood stove was a little cool on one side of the cabin when it dipped to 50 degrees outside. Next time I will bring more than a couple light blankets. Perhaps sleeping bags. We were glad we drove a 4 wheel drive on that lovely hilly dirt road, and were happy to arrive in the daylight. So grateful for such a lovely stay.

Holidays can still be relaxing
We unplugged, biked, hiked, kayaked, and paddle boarded our way through a great getaway. Close to supplies and things to see and do, the long driveway and cabin location made us feel blissfully isolated from the typically crowded and busy summer traffic. The cabin was the right fit for us and would be for anyone who appreciates a rustic setting… and by rustic I mean happy stoking a fire in a cast iron stove to take the damp away from the rain or being away from a tv. We set up cots rather than use the loft, and let the sounds of loons on the lake send us to sleep and wake us up the next morning.
