Well kept condo, very comfortable, adjacent to path around Collins Lake which is a gorgeous short hike, and right in town convenient to all shops, bars and eateries. The on-site property managers are loathe to help vrbo or vacasa renters. Wifi did not work, which frustrated me at first, but then forced me to have a vacation, so that's kind of a plus. Bring your personal hotspot to fix that and you will enjoy this property.

Great location
The condo is spacious enough but the deck was so filthy that you had to bring your shoes outside and wear them or your feet were black the condo needs a new paint job inside lots and lots of paint coming off the walls and new pots and pans would be great but otherwise I liked it

Prop managers are not responsive
Unfortunately I donā€™t think the property management group is doing a great job here. The place is pretty worn. Upon attempting to grill the first night the grill completely lit on fire- who knows the last time it was cleaned. Grease pan below overflowing. Obviously this is a hazard. We notified the management that day- no follow up. Meaning we couldnā€™t use the grill the whole time. The main level powder sounds like a pipe is going to burst every time you flush the toilet. Some furnishings are literally falling apart. Found old empty alcohol bottles in dresser drawers. Little things like scissors and trash bags not there. Just overall (and for the price) it seems like it isnā€™t being maintained well.

Weekend
This property was as advertised. The check in process was easy, the house clean and fit our family well. We were happy to be able to bring our dog. A few things were frustrating and would probably prevent us from renting again. The fridge froze most of our food and ruined produce. Not having coffee filters was a real bummer. The fireplace never worked. The TV was not adequately supported by the internet. It eventually stopped altogether. We tried to call the number posted for help, nobody answered the phone. The queen bed upstairs was so uncomfortable we lost a night's sleep. The broken chair in the living room almost caused an injury. The main floor toilet runs. On Saturday night the neighbors caused continuous noise until 10 pm. Running, stomping, banging walls, screaming, singing all very loud. We called the front office; they came to help but we were told that the guests had until 10 pm to be quiet. Our information said 9 pm. Your place is lovely. It needs a little attention and if you say a kitchen is fully stocked be sure to inform your guests to bring coffee filters.

Bad customer service for lost and found
The property was great - the lost and found process (with Vacasa) has been a terrible experience. Vacasa stated they have the item, however when taking time to drive back to the property to pick it up, it was not available. It's been me calling and emailing to try and sort this out..... very disappointing and frustrating experience. At this point, without the item recovered, I likely will not use this service again and will need to share my experience with others as a warning.

Close and Comfy
We stayed for a wedding on Mt. Hood and this was a perfect location with everything we needed. One notable issue was the heat was difficult to control, especially upstairs-it was roasting! We did forget an item and Vacasa charged us $25 just for their time to arrange for pick up, yet the local Vacasa crew had no idea we were coming at the arranged date and time! We called the phone number on the window, talked to the nice gal and waited 30 minutes for someone to arrive. Very frustrating....

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful time at Government camp. The condo was great for dogs as it was very close to a walking trail. It was well stocked and every light switch was labeled which was a lot of help. The blinds in the upstairs were a little damaged and didn't work well or too difficult for me to figure out. We still managed to open the windows but could never pull the blinds up. Not a deal breaker for us. We will stay here again.

OK
Great location and complex. Pool and hot tub are great. Condo was meh. Needs black out curtains in master room (or a better window covering). Beds we uncomfortable and sheets were cheap. For the price it would have been nicer to have a little more comfortable bedding. The TVs are a bit dated especially upstairs. Kitchen was well stocked. Balcony was nice. Walking distance to government camp.

Elevator Needed!
You think I am joking, but there are a lot of stairs and they are steep! It gets really old, really fast, especially when you are moving luggage in and out or just coming in tired from a long day of activities. That said, this was a very nice house. I gave it 4 stars for two reasons, neither of which had to do with the house, but the housekeeping. First, there was no dish soap in the kitchen (only dishwasher tabs). That may be a minor thing, but it made me question the cleanliness of everything in the kitchen, especially the pots and pans which "must be hand washed". Luckily I had some (we travel with our dog and I keep a small bottle to wash her bowls in hotel rooms). The second issue was the toilet paper, which must have been the cheapest they can buy. It was akin to roadside rest stops. It was truly awful. Everything else about the house was comfortable and nice. The kitchen was well stocked (except for the previously mentioned dish soap) and had everything we needed. The microwave was goofy- if you cook anything longer than 4 minutes it completely overheats and shuts down, taking about a 1/2 hour before it turns back on and can be used again (there is a lot of grease build up in the vent, which I suspect is the problem- again a housekeeping issue). The back deck is nice and has a BBQ hooked up to a gas line (although we didn't use it). It was nice to look outside and see mostly trees, as several other units looked onto the back of buildings. It made you feel like you were truly staying in a mountain town. We liked having a garage for our car, especially when loading and unloading. The property is very nice, with several trails you can walk (when there is no snow) and even has its own lake. The rental and property were dog friendly with bag stations and garbage cans located throughout. The pool could be a potential problem, as the kids' roughhouse and screaming can be heard throughout the entire complex (even though it was several buildings away). The town is cute, but small (you can walk to the end of town and back to your condo in a 1/2 hour) and only has one small store. The store seems to have anything you need, but you will pay double the price, so bring all your food with you. There are a few restaurants in town, but we didn't try them.
