This is a delightful, peaceful older style hostela( I guess if you want the Hilton, go to the Holton) A bit like staying with family, my room had a big comfy bed, a heater, adequate power pointsas I had a mini travel jug, and a large shower bathroom with huge bottles of toiletries. A little balcony has roof top views and not spectacular but open and airy with a look into the surrounds. It is just off the main square and a beautiful church on the walk by the river that looks up to the Alhambra- coffee shops, eateries, guided walks, Arabic architecture , the Tourist Centre all less than 10 minutes away. The lane to the Hostela is off the road to the Pomegranate Gate that leads to the long walk to the Alhambra. Here you can also find mementos like musical wooden inlaid jewellery boxes, chess sets, leather , a guitar maker and flamenco all 5 mins from your room! The owners are a lovely couple and in the morning I was given a wake up knock and a glass of mint tea. I had a happy time and if you are a single lady traveller they look out for you. Don't take that tourist train though - you can walk to the best places or catch a taxi to the station if you travel by train or one of the many minibuses that crisscross Granada - ask a local. There are stairs with no lift in the Hostela so if this is a problem book ahead requesting a low level room. I would happily stay here again
