The staff is excellent. Mitchell and Danny both remembered me from my previous stay. I met Louise this time and she is very nice also. They make it feel like old home week. The room is clean and quiet. I will definitely be back.

Check in was fine. Front desk person was accommodating. Room was very dirty. Shower curtain was disgusting. Bedding may or may not have been washed. Smelled old and could detect the faint smell of cigarette smoke. I am guessing it wasn’t always a non-smoking place, especially because it’s an older building. Toilet had problems flushing. Carpet in the room looked newer but the room was not well maintained. TV was small, but there was a Roku with many options, so that was good. Doors into the building were not secure, but the room locked just fine. Lobby closes at around 8 or 9 PM, so very inconvenient in that respect. Free breakfast was minimal and pretty much all carbs. They had a Keurig-like machine, which was fine except that people had to wait in line. Lobby doubles as the breakfast area, so very small and not many places to sit. Probably the cheapest place in Grand Marais - would not return here. I guess you get what you pay for. Hotels in town and right on the lake look much nicer.

Nice basic breakfast, exterior looked nice, fairly quiet, bed was fine, AC unit inside the room did not cool much at all; parking lot falling apart. Bathroom floor slanted and bathroom door difficult to shut, spa/hot tub under repair.

General disrepair. AC did not work. Storm door did not latch because someone had broken the sill when opened. Shower water was installed opposite so when you wanted hot water move to the cold side.

Aspin Inn is not much. Very old and run down, Traffic on Hwy 61 is very loud. The room and bathroom were both clean just old

I will never stay here again. Room was old and worn. The A/C made more noise than the road traffic and to top it off the bathtub was dirty. All for $150 a night.
