The lakefront chalet is located on peaceful Lake Louise in Johannesburg. We invite you to come and enjoy the serenity of the lake. You have two decks to choose from. One located out the back door of the chalet and the other is a large lake side deck that's great for soaking up the sun. We also have a horseshoe pit, fire pit, four kayaks and a paddle boat for your enjoyment. We are just minutes from Gaylord's downtown "Alpine Village" where you'll find shops, restaurants and summer/winter festivals. Gaylord is know as Michigan's golf mecca and we are smack dab in the middle of the snow belt so if your looking to hit the trails or the slopes you won't be disappointed. Great trails for hiking located with in minutes. Get here and enjoy everything Northern Michigan has to offer!

Dawn, the host of property went above to make sure we had everything we needed for a successful family New Year's vacation! The chalet was very clean upon arrival & tastefully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked with every utensil needed to cook a meal. 10 OUT OF 10!

Christmas at the cabin
The cabin was very nice. It was difficult to keep the floors from getting so dirty because the area in front of the door was dirt sand. It would’ve been nicer to have more rocks there gravel so that you didn’t track so much sand and dirt in Dawn is a wonderful host. The lake is beautiful and in the summer I’m sure it’s delightful to spend time down at the lake. It was decorated beautifully, and the additional decorations for Christmas were very nice and very much appreciated.

Perfect little cottage on the water
This cottage was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It felt private even though there were other houses near by. It was a quiet neighborhood. The view of the fall colors and the lake off the back porch were beautiful!

PERFECT!
My husband and I enjoy taking a long weekend in the fall to see the colors. This cabin was perfect. It’s quaint and cozy and everything is just right. The bed is comfy. There’s plenty of pots and pans for cooking. The view of the lake is fabulous. Everything about the cabin was perfect! So very glad we found it!! Many thanks to the owners for keeping such a lovely place.

Relaxing lake cabin!
Had a wonderful time! The beds are incredibly comfy, the kitchen is well equipped, the entire place is immaculately clean and well maintained, and the lake is beautiful! The wifi and smart tvs are perfect for streaming, the property feels private and secluded while being located in a charming little neighborhood perfect for going on runs or relaxing walks. Check in and out was a breeze, and communication with the hosts was easy and prompt. No complaints whatsoever, highly recommend!

Great place for a retreat on the lake
Our stay was perfect. No complaints, the place was clean with fresh towels and clean bedding. I was surprised at the lack of bugs and spider webs inside for being in the woods and on the lake. We enjoyed the paddle boat, fire pit and the wildlife on the lake. We even saw an eagle catch a fish. The internet and tv worked well and was necessary for us. We aren't golfers but still found plenty to do including the nature preserve minutes away and the elk park and restaurants in Gaylord. We also got to visit Oquecoc falls and the Little Oquecoc underground river which was about an hour away but well worth the drive. Otsego state park was a beautiful place to explore and go swimming as well. The chalet offered a relaxing place to stay with fun on the water and the ability to explore the northeastern lower peninsula.

Golf Trip

Excellent Cabin on a cute lake
This was my first time staying at this cabin it was perfect right on the lake. It was clean and had all the things you would need. I definitely recommend this place and I would love to go back again. The deck was amazing by the water. I have no complaints at all. My family and I were very happy with our stay.

The chalet was wonderful! We were very pleased with everything. Initially we could use the wifi but I just used the username and password on the router, the one provided to us didn’t work. A ton of mosquitos, but that’s kind of the name of the game with northern mi and a house on the lake…bring a lot of citronella candles for outside. The lake the cabin is on is private so if you bring a boat like we did you can’t get on that specific lake…not a problem as there are a few others to choose from. Fishing around the other lakes was excellent. Great time with family and great Vrbo house!

May 15 - May 25 , 30-40 degrees first week , 70 degrees last three days. Intense mosquitos entire ten days. Cabin was really dark, hardly any lamps, reading made difficult. Front door huge gap at bottom, bathtub only worked as a shower, flooring was in poor condition, room to room thresh holds missing. Daddy long leg spiders like crazy ! Paddleboat was fun. Lake is great size.

Great stay and Gracious Hosts!
We had a magnificent time. Our stay was peaceful and the thoughtfulness of the hosts allowed us to relax and unwind! The property was very clean and it is stocked with everything a family could need including a ton of games for entertainment. Our beds were beyond comfortable which made for the best night sleep I’ve personally have had in a very long time! We can’t wait to come back this summer and enjoy the lake! The location is beautiful and the hosts are gracious and kind! Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer! Thank you for everything Dawn!
