Charming older house with updated furniture, kitchen, appliances, and decor. The layout is a little idiosyncratic but that's part of the charm, you don't get that with houses these days. The second door to the back porch could use a lock, but I felt perfectly safe staying there on my own.
Most of the house has real hardwood floors, which is lovely, complete with raised strips at every threshold, so it could be a tripping hazard if you are especially vulnerable, but otherwise there's just a couple of steps to get in the back door. There's plenty of space for gathering if you have more people (I hardly needed it). There is tons of natural light, but the bedrooms and bathrooms all have window covers for privacy. There is lots of glass on the doors in the more public areas, but there aren't people walking by outside to be looking in!
All in all a great place to say, convenient to the Science Center, Lake Brandt, and Stamey's Barbecue, a local favorite that my family has always loved.
