Overall good
We were there for a wedding and chose this hotel as it was close to the church. We really didn't spend anytime at any restaurants or shops in Mt. Pleasant. The receptionist at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. The common areas (elevator carpet, lobby and cafe upholstery could use some attention). There seems to be very little sound barrier. You can hear everything in the adjoining rooms and there is significant space under the room door so conversations late at night in the hallway kept waking us up. The free breakfast was VERY good. The hotel felt very safe as did the surrounding area. I thought the price of $164 for a night was high for a rural Holiday Express. Overall good.

For what is supposed to be a non smoking property, it smelled like cigarette smoke in the hallway every time we left the room.

Room 104 was musty, the sheets were damp, the air conditioning was loaded with mildew and mold and I was charged a $50 deposit for a security hold when it was my teenage son and I arriving at 1130pm and was told I will get it back in 5days. The woman working the desk was neither pleasant nor nasty, but the overall experience was $30/night hotel room not holiday inn.

Check in was great! The lady on the front desk was very pleasant and helpful and did a great job. The room on the third floor was clean and very quiet and a comfortable bed, making for a good sleep. Breakfast was the usual hot offering of scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, a few bagels and such. They had cereal but no milk or yogurt to put on it, don’t know what’s up with that??? Asked the kitchen attendant about it and he said they did not have any. Coffee was good the shower excellent. A bit more attention to the quantities of items being served, and other offerings, in the kitchen is required in my opinion.

Overall the stay was decent. Breakfast was a bit disappointing. Cold eggs and bacon was almost not cooked at all. Gravy but no Biscuits. Pancake machine was broken. No potatoes or sausage. Have stayed at multiple IHG Properties and breakfast is usually pretty good. Not here.
