Great Views, Great Location, modern & cozy Apartment (renovated 2022)

Set in the world famous Bernese Oberland, Grindelwald is the base for some of Europe's best walking trails and has become something of a hiking Mecca over the years. During the winter months with over 260 kms of slopes in the Jungfrau region you are spoilt for choice.
The chalet is perfectly located in a very quiet private road just a 5-7 minutes walk from the railway station (Grindelwald Dorf) and the village center and the gondolas.

The apartment Shreckhorn with 86 m2 living area for (4-5 people) and 3.5 rooms (2 bedrooms) is located on the first floor. It's spacious and has a large south facing balcony
with uninterrupted views of the Eiger North Face and the surrounding mountain world.

With modern furniture, fully equipped kitchen, internet (WiFi), SAT TV and a covered parking space in front of the chalet.

Included in the rate: cleaning at the end of your stay, linen, towels, kitchen towels, Internet, carport and side costs (heating, power, water). The only additional costs are the local tourist taxes.

Very clean, modern, well-equiped and comfortable apartment in a great central location. It was my son's first visit to Switzerland and he was absolutely amazed by the views from the balcony - WOW! Wonderful home with spectacular views
My family loved staying at this home. The home had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious and the deck was a perfect place to sit back and look at the Eiger. The location was perfect for getting to the train, buses and walking into town. Christine was helpful and prompt to respond to any questions and left a very thorough guest book. We would love to stay here again. Thank you for the memories.

Great view & location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this well located apartment. The views were phenomenal, and we enjoyed breakfast on the terrace each morning. It’s convenient to the train and bus station, just be ready for a very steep walk (good practice for all the magnificent hiking nearby). Luckily there is also a closer bus stop, which was great as well to all the connecting gondolas, etc. Plenty of space for a family of 4.

Delightful stay
Hiking holiday for 4 nights in July, with family. Somehow the view was even better than the pictures! We greatly appreciated the small touches (games to play in the cabinet, toys/stuffies for little kids, well-stocked kitchen that already had supplies like olive oil, salt, spices, etc). Coop market just up the hill made it easy to cook and save some money on restaurants. Easy access to multiple mountain transport options, very centrally located and convenient.

Would recommend this beautiful apartment to anyone. Easy directions and arrival. Parking space. Clean. Comfy beds, great shower, large tv, fast WiFi, kitchen with all utensils. View amazing. Perfect location in Grindelwald. Short walk from station, supermarket and main street so very central but also very peaceful. Communication from owners was fantastic….i had a problem with one of the communal washing machines one evening and Christine responded to my email within half an hour! We didn’t use our car the whole week. All positive.

Beautiful apartment in a great chalet building, less than 10mins walk from Grindelwald train station. Epic views of the mountains from the large balcony, it was hard to stop looking out of the windows. The apartment was very well equipped and decorated. Lovely bathroom with a great shower. Cosy living space, perfect for relaxing after a long day’s hiking.

The unit is very clean and beautiful as described.The washer/dryer is coin based in the common laundry room. About 2-3 CHF per use. We did not end up using it as we don't have the coins.

Great location and clean house
This was my first time renting a vacation house. At first I thought the cleaning fee was a bit high, but as soon as I arrived it was worth of it. It was only a 5-minute walk from the Grindelwald station. I had a stunning view of the Eiger north face from the balcony. The kitchen was fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, and even a fondue pot! I really enjoyed it. The beds and renovated bathroom were comfortable. There was only one all-in-1 liquid soap in the bathroom, so if you want to use a shampoo or a conditioner, you might want to bring your own. We were really impressed and enjoyed staying here. I hope we'll visit again soon!

Outstanding condition and location
This was by far one of the nicest and well-appointed properties we've ever rented. We stayed for 10 days and it felt like home. The owners have provided every necessity you can imagine. We like to prepare our own meals and the kitchen was excellent with every amenity we needed. And their newly remodeled bathroom with heated floors and large shower was amazing. We had two other family friends staying in other properties in town and they were all impressed with how nice this rental was compared to theirs. Train station and groceries are quite close but it is a steep walk so you might want to employ a taxi the first day if you arrive by train with many bags. Otherwise, we walked everywhere and appreciated its central location with nearby bus service, too. The chalet has other 5-6 other units but the walls are thick and we never heard anyone else. Beds are very comfortable and bedrooms provided excellent storage. Finally, the views are simply incredible. I wish the weather allowed us to make better use of the large deck with comfortable seating. We will recommend this location to friends and family.

Excellent!!!! Short walk to Grindelwald station and the center of town, shopping and groceries. Host was very helpful; smooth self-service check-in. Balcony with spectacular Mountain Views. I could have stayed on the balcony sipping a cup of coffee all day. Great vacation spot!

Perfect apartment for a summer Alpine holiday
Perfect position in Grindlewald to access all areas of the surrounding Alps. Didn't need to use the car at all in the week we were there. Lovely well appointed apartment with sensational views from the hige balcony. Comfy bedrooms. Bathroom has not been updated so was not up to standard of the rest of the apartment. This did not affect our enjoyment of the week but needs mentioning.

Wonderful stay in beautiful apartment in Grindelwald
We absolutely loved our stay in Grindelwald at the Shrekhorn apartment. It was perfectly located close to the train station and a short walk to town. The views were incredible and we often spent time on the balcony enjoying the remarkable sunrises and breathtaking sunsets. The space was perfect for our family of 4 and I would highly recommend it for anyone wishing to have spacious and comfortable accommodations in Grindelwald. The hosts were very easy to communicate with and quick to respond to my questions. They have done an excellent job of making this a welcoming home for the guests and I can't wait to return and hope to stay here again!
