I stayed in the hostel for my weekend trip to Hakone. The hostel is located a short distance away from Odawara station, which makes traveling to Hakone or other close stations convenient. There are plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The hostel was easy to find, clean and had a small communal kitchen with utensils and snacks. Showers had free shampoo, conditioner and body soap.
The shared rooms were comfortable and clean, with closable curtains, power outlets, and lights on every bed. The beds are nice and roomy. Rooms also had air conditioning, but I can imagine it can get hot during summer, so I suggest on choosing a bed closest to the AC during summer months. The floor-area can get crowded with everyones luggage, so taking a small bag might be a good idea.
The staff was nice and friendly, most of them spoke very good English. They seemed more than happy to sit and talk with quests on the communal areas. They can also recommend restaurants, clubs and sightseeing spots nearby.
The hostel is closed every day from 12:00 to 16:00, so take that into account. They officially lock their door at 21:00 every night, but it's possible to get in by using the number pad on the door (the staff will tell you the code during check-in). The hostel can hold your luggage even after checkout, which was a great plus.
Overall my stay was great. I'd recommend this hostel to anyone who is on a budget and is fine with sharing a room.
