Was okay
Posted 26 Feb. 2024 on HotelsStaff were friendly, breakfast buffet was small but okay. Rooms were a good size but I wasn’t really happy with the room cleaning. I stayed 5 nights and my sheets weren’t changed once. That would normally be okay except my partner had an unexpected nosebleed and got a little bit of blood on our doona and it sat there for 5 nights. When our room would get ‘made up’ the staff would just reposition the doona, where they would clearly see the blood, instead of changing it. It was just a bit gross and for the price per night I had hoped they’d change it. Also our room was only vacuumed once our whole stay. It just left me feeling disappointed, I really enjoy a clean room and I splurged with this hotel. I don’t think I’d stay here again.

The Onsen and restraunt was not in operation. The breakfast was minimal . The staff tried their best but it felt really like end of season. Dispite that some of the staff were wonderful and made the trip. Room very small.

We loved our stay at the Double Black. I think the best thing about it is the staff who couldn't have been more helpful or more friendly - there was nothing they wouldn't do for us, driving us around and knocking on my sick son's door during the day. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and a good vibe in the bar in the evening and the food in the restaurant is fabulous. Would definitely go back!

Good service from staff - hotel needs attention
Posted 3 Jan. 2024 on HotelsThe hotel opened 20 December after 2-3 Years. We checked in 21 December. The heating system (pipes) were challenged meaning a constant banging (average 10 mins) night and day during our 8 night stay. Plumbers were not able to fix.
Super attentative service from Verie and the drivers - always helpfull.
The hotel was manned by skiiers for a seasonal job which meant none or very little attention to detail eg coffee machine were attended by 3-4 staff in order to learn so huge waiting time for a Latte/cappuchino - but they tried their best.
Room was good for 2 adults and I can not recommend to stay 3 in a normal room. The sleeping couch is not fit for adults/teenagers.
We think, had it not been for Verie and great drivers the stay lacked general service level and an updated room.
