Terribly Noisy

Was not warned about ongoing construction work until check in. We were told that it would be between 1000 and 1600hrs. It was so loud during the day that it was impossible to make or receive calls in the room. What’s more work started, albeit a bit quieter, before 0830hrs on the Saturday morning- waking us up earlier than intended after a flight back from the Caribbean.

Southampton Holiday Inn

The hotel is undergoing renovations so the lobby area, common areas and the outside was not looking as good as it should but the room was clean and everything was in excellent condition. Nice bathroom and beds. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. I have to acknowledge Diksha on the front desk that really went out of her way helping us with questions and tacos.

No heat - Manager didn't care!

There was no heating. There was a serious systemic flaw. The manager, who worked the front desk insisted that the open curtains were the culprit. Numerous people in the hotel complained about the cold. The particular manager I am talking about was female, what seemed like an Eastern European accent. There was no problem with her English.

Stayed one night after a cruise. There was construction at the hotel but it didn’t impact us at all. Room was spacious and very clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good with free coffee always available. Staff were friendly.

We found the hotel to be friendly and well organised despite the fact that it was undergoing substantial refurbishment. We were particularly pleased that we could avail ourselves of free tea and coffee throughout our stay.

Although the hotel is currently going through some refurbishment the temporary reception worked well, the temporary dining room and bar although small still offered excellent service. Food was excellent, free hot drinks machine at reception was also very welcoming. Our only negative, we asked twice for an extra pillow which never arrived.
