On the eastern shores of beautiful Crystal Lake, you'll find four seasons of adventure and lakefront relaxation in a classic Western Maine setting. This home is a place to swim off the private dock all summer, take in spectacular fall colors, ski in a quiet woodland setting come winter, and spend the spring on lovely hiking trails nearby.
Scenically set on a hillside among the trees, this home sits just across the road from the lakeshore, a dock house on the water, and a private dock with a swim ladder and stairs. You'll find ample parking at the back of the house, a ramp leading to the front door, and three levels of living space accented by knotty pine, plentiful windows, and lake views. On the main level, you can leave your wet gear in the mudroom and make yourself at home in a space that brings together the living room, the dining area, and the kitchen - the latter offering stainless steel appliances, including a wine fridge, a farm sink, and a peninsula breakfast bar. The dining room table sits adjacent to a bank of floor-to-ceiling windows, and the living room has plush furnishings and a TV. The expansive deck, accessed through sliding glass doors, is bright all day, offering a gas grill, outdoor seating, and sweeping lake views.
A staircase leads to the third floor, where you'll find an assortment of books and games to enjoy. The ground floor is partially finished and offers sliding glass doors that lead outside.
The shores of Crystal Lake - and the private dock - are just across Norway Road from the house, so you can start each morning by canoeing, kayaking, fishing, or swimming in the lake's cool waters. There isn't room for a guest to park a boat at the dock, but there's a town ramp for launching small boats and a park with a playground and a beach in downtown Harrison about a mile south. The surrounding area is known for its farms, small markets, and hiking and skiing trails, with Shawnee Peak only 12 miles southwest. Sebago Lake State Park is 17 miles south, and Jockey Cap - an excellent spot for less demanding hikes - is 20 miles west.
