We adhere to strict cleaning and disinfecting requirements in accordance with CDC guidelines. All towels and sheets are 100% cotton and washed in hot water with bleach and dried on high heat... Very clean and very comfortable, fresh Self check-in is super easy.

Each of our three suites can enjoy their large private outdoor patio facing the beautiful backyard and located less than one block from a general convenience store which stocks numerous amenities, snacks and convenience items.

The Sun Shine Suite offers two generous bed rooms with comfortable hand made queen-size pine beds, plus a comfortable pull-out sofa in the living room.

Great place!! Cute and comfortable!
Best things: communication was great with John. Cleanliness: clean place, sheets, plenty towels and updated. Comfort: the beds are comfortable and sofa bed with soft blankets and plenty of pillows. Entertainment: garage so open for card games and gathering, basement has pool table, gathering and foosball, it’s about 20-25min walk to town. I love the walk far enough for. Good walk but not too long. We had friends in the connecting cottages. Highly recommend!

Hello John! Wanted to express my families extreme thanks to you for a fabulous stay in your amazing, bright, cheerful, cozy Sunshine Cottage!! We all loved it!! Our first big thumbs up is on the wonderful bedding/ pillows!! Sometimes a place can look terrific and then not have comfy bedding, but ya'll had fantastic mattress and bedding setup!!! The yard was so lovely and well maintained too!! I really enjoyed relaxing and wish we could have really utilized all the amenities you provide, but we decided it's a reason to come back and visit! :) Also, the surrounding towns of Saugatuck, Holland, Fennville, and Alleghan were awesome to visit and indulge in their scrumptious food, shopping and the local attractions! All very close to get to, just as you had listed. The only suggestion we had was a possible addition of folding luggage racks to sit suitcases on. Other than that, everything was absolutely wonderful, and a cherished temporary "home base" for my Mama and my sisters and I to enjoy our first ever Mother/ Daughter trip! Thank you again for everything!!!! Hope to see you again soon and we'll tell all our friends and family to put the Sunshine Cottages on their list to visit!

We stayed in the Sunshine Cottage, staying a total of 4 nights. Communication was top-notch with John. Check-in was easy to follow and all the amenities were as described. Location was convenient to all the attractions and towns we visited during the Holland Tulip Festival. We met John briefly on our second day while relaxing around the community fire pit. He checked in with us, asking how we were enjoying our stay. He was very nice and friendly. The next time we vacation in this area, we would gladly stay here again. Thank you John.

Fabulous place to stay! We will definitely be staying there again. Super clean and cute inside. Has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Best of both worlds. Close enough to walk to downtown and all the sights of Saugatuck, yet somewhat secluded surrounded by trees and with an awesome fire pit where we spent hours enjoying friends and the beautiful autumn season.

Husband and I stayed two nights in Sunshine during October. The cottages are easily accessible from Blue Star Highway and a four minute drive into Saugatuck. The rooms are spotless, bathroom too. Cottage was very clean! Could use more comfortable seating in the living room. That would be my only suggestion. Otherwise, everything was well thought out and there was really no need to bring anything other than your clothes! It was conveniently located close to downtown Saugatuck.

From the Sunshine State to Sunshine Cottage
We live in Venice, Florida and came to spend a week to see the autumn leaves. The yellow Sunshine cottage was so cheery it was like we brought Florida sunshine with us! We LOVED everything about this spotlessly clean, sweet smelling cottage. We were blown away by the exceptional hospitality of our host John. He was such a good communicator and couldn’t do enough for us. My mate celebrated his birthday and John had special wine glasses delivered in honor of the occasion. The beds were like sleeping on clouds. Being boating people, we loved the nautical vibe (cleats, anchors and lighthouses). When we ventured outside our home-away-from-home, we enjoyed several great restaurants, including The Butler and The Barge on the waterfront and Scooters and Wally’s in downtown Saugatuck. On a sunny day, we enjoyed walking over the wooded dunes to the lake in nearby Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Farther afield, we enjoyed a free tour of the beautiful Mayer May historic home in Grand Rapids built by the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Thank you John for making our fall adventure on the Lake Michigan coast so memorable.

Quick visit
We really enjoyed our stay at Sunshine cottage. It was the perfect spot to enjoy a few days away during the fall. Although the weather didn’t cooperate we still were able to enjoy the area. The cottage was very neat and clean. We were able to enjoy the pool table and games in the evening after exploring Saugatuck and Holland during the day.

Booked this place for a long weekend with some friends. Couldn’t have been more happy with the space! Pros: very clean and well maintained. We appreciated that everything was labeled. Fire pit, grill, converted garage, etc. we’re all great on-property perks. Not a far drive to downtown and close to sand dune ride, mini golf and the dollar store. Cons: limited kitchen utensils (could have benefited from a couple cookie sheet and a pot lid), hornets test in front tree was a little worrisome. Overall this is a great stay! Definitely will come back!

Very nice
The house and property was clean and looked newly renovated. About a mile away from downtown Saugatuck, so a great location. Easy find and access from the highway. We had two days of rain when we stayed so I appreciated the game cabinet and pool table - they were a fun way to get my kids off of their screens. We had a great time. We’d definitely stay there again. Only suggestions - perhaps a baking (cookie) sheet or two and a veggie steamer to insert into a pot. Thank you!

Clean and Cozy
The pictures of the place are true to the actual house! It is so clean and cozy! We loved how they would set up bonfires a couple times during our stay. There was so much to keep our son busy on the rainy morning we had during our stay! They thought of everything!
