COOL CHAZ Waterfront River Rental-4Kayaks-1Canoe-2docks-boathouse

Great location in a country-like setting but less than a few miles to local grocery store, gas station, Dollar General-they have practically everything, Subway, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Walgreens, 7-11, gas station and more. Walmart is about 5 miles away and town is just a tad further. The house is on a cul-da-sac that ends at the water on a corner lot w/intersecting canals. Canal leads to Chassahowitzka River and 7 Sisters Springs. The Springs are located very close to the house via the canal at the entrance to the river on the right. See the moon like craters with some springs that are open to a neighboring spring. Watch as visitors swim thru one crater and come up in another. Be sure to see “The Crack” while on the river-I call it the blue lagoon. The house has a full yard with 2 docks-both have lower docks off main docks to access kayaks/canoe, a small boathouse & comes w/4 kayaks & 1 canoe to save you renting them but if you need more, rentals are only a few blocks away at the Chassahowitzka River Campground with boat launch or the Chassahowitzka Lodge/bar. Make sure you bring or wear life jackets on board as they are required by law. Life jackets are located in screened in room off back of house. See pics of 12' culvert that boats must traverse to from house to river-there is a map in the house on how to get to river.

The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 with 1 double bed & 1 twin bed the mermaid room. It also has access to the main bathroom from the bedroom and a TV. The other bedroom has a King canopy bed. Master king bedroom has full bath with a garden style tub/shower combo and it’s own TV.
The house sleeps 5 in beds and up to 8 with 1 on each of the 2 couches in living room, and 1 on the fold out floor futon located in the master bedroom closet. Additional linens/pillows/blankets provided. There is an extra nightly guest fee for each guest over 5.

Fully stocked kitchen w/everything you need-all the dishes/pots-n-pans, silverware, glasses, drip coffee maker, microwave, blender, toaster, etcetera. Gas bbq in carport.

Wi-Fi and streamed TV in living room and both bedrooms, & dvd player so you can always play a movie, some dvd's provided in home. DVD player can be moved from room to room if necessary.

If you bring a boat, other than a canoe or kayak or anything you can't carry, you will need to put it in at the boat launch and in order to bring it back to the house, your boat will need to be able to fit thru the 12" culvert. Water is shallow, especially at low tide. Pontoons that are not deck boats usually fit, you have to lower the top, lower the fishing rods and bimini tops. The pics show the passage. Most boats can put in 4 blocks away at the Chassahowitzka River Campground launch, larger boats can put in at McRae's on Halls River Road on the Homosassa River. There is room to store your boat and trailer at the house on the property. Hope that helps. Call the Chassahowitzka River Campground if you have questions regarding boats on the river. Parking at the house is limited to carport and driveway noting that only half of the driveway belongs to my lot, the other half belongs to the neighbor. Please do not block neighbors access to road. A limit of 3 (or maybe 4 depending on size) maximum total vehicles will fit.

The Seven Sisters Springs are on your right as you come out of the canals at the beginning of the river heading towards the Gulf. It is really beautiful and truly "Old Florida" setting. Great place to park the kayaks and swim in the crystal clear spring water. Some of the springs connect and you can swim through them and come up in the next spring. The river is shallow and runs about 5 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful serene views the entire way with lots of wildlife and nature to see. Manatees and dolphins are in the river as well as in the canals. Lots to explore.

PET OWNERS: Only dogs are permitted. Pet fee is $85 for 1 dog.If you have more than 1 dogs, please message me and request an an additional dog, describing the type and size of dogs. An additional fee will be required. Dogs must be up-to-date on required shots, on flea control either topical or oral, owners are responsible for their pets and must pick up after them. Leash laws apply. Please do not allow your pet to run freely to other neighbors lots. The yard is not fenced in except on one side and open to the street and water sides. Dogs must be well behaved and house broken. Should your pet have an accident, please clean it up thoroughly. Please do not allow your pet on furniture or bedding. Additional pet sheets are located in the master bedroom closet please use them if needed.

Note that the house is a doublewide mobile home, clean, cute & comfortable and has everything you need minus food & personal items. It is not fancy. Not rustic, but not modern or Hilton-like. My guests come for the peace and quiet and to enjoy nature, the river and the explore the area. If you are looking for modern or fancy please keep looking. Property looks like it is depicted in the photos and described. Please see the photos and read the captions. Read the reviews to get a better feel for the property. Note that I can’t make everyone happy. Some people just need to complain. As you can see from my 4.8 (out of 5) star rating, the majority love it here. I’m sure if you stay here, you won’t be disappointed. I have another vacation rental in Weeki Wachee about 20 minutes South of the Chaz for next time or even this time. Check them out. They also are highly rated. Thank you for your interest and enjoy your stay.

Chazz Getaway
We had a wonderful time! My best friend and her family visited us from Texas and we wanted her first trip to Florida to be perfect!! The house was comfy and inviting, the property was clean and the owner was amazing. She was very helpful friendly and accommodating. We did some fishing off the dock, kayaked the chassahowitzka river, swam in at the crack and visited seven sister springs. We will definitely be back in the future!! 😊

Spring Fed and Spring Forward Family
Our Family had a wonderful time staying at this Vacation Home. The home and location was exciting for our Family members. Going to the Springs and Diving was really fun for our Grandchildren. We Fishef in the evening and played board games that the property owner had available! Most of all not worrying about renting canoes and kayaks was definitely a Plus. Clean home and everything at our fingertips was appreciated! Mark and Rebecca

All the comforts of home
This cozy house had all the comforts of home and then some! Except for food we had everything we needed provided for us. Plenty of space for 4 adults to spread out and relax in between visiting family and exploring the area. My men loved having the kayaks/canoe to explore the Chaz. Such a wonderful location. Susan was an exceptional host and promptly responded to any questions. I"ve highly recommended this property to my family for their visits to the area and hope to stay there again soon.

Nature Lover's Retreat
Since it was winter, the steam off the water was beautiful in the mornings, however the water level was too low for any water activities. But it was too chilly for that anyway. To compensate we had bonfires each evening to warm the chilly air. Birds everywhere singing and being on a cul-de-sac, it was safe for our little dogs. Very enjoyable. Thank you Sue.

Great little home for a family get away
Sue was great to deal with, extremely helpful and willing to go out of her way to make our stay comfortable. The property was wonderful, allowing us to kayak daily, walk to the “crack” for a little piece of heaven and easy access to many amenities. The house was very clean and comfortable, well stocked with what we needed to vacation with our children and two young grandchildren. Wonderful experience!!

Christmas Getaway
We came down to Homosassa for Christmas with my daughter and her boyfriend. It was their first chance to see the manatees and fish in the Chaz. The Cool Chaz was a great place to stay and enjoy all the River had to offer. Sue was a great host and was quick to bring us extra heaters when the temperature dropped well below freezing. We had a great time.

Peaceful spot on the water. Very clean and communication with the owner was perfect. As stated, not fancy, but the perfect place to unwind and spend quality mother/daughter time in nature. We swam with the manatees, fished off the dock, kayaked the beautiful river and springs, and enjoyed a fire in the fire pit. Would definately love to stay here again!

Absolutely amazing!
I am still in a relaxed state and we arrived home yesterday afternoon. We enjoyed our stay at this home more than any other places we have stayed and there have been quite a few others. The home is clean and has everything you need. We picked up some food and personal items on the way in. We didn't need to leave again for any reason(other than to pick up some more wine and beer😉). We relaxed on both of the beautiful docks on the property. We watched manatees float by each morning while having our coffee. We saw a baby alligator come visit every evening. If you are going to use the kyaks I suggest using the boat house to put them in the water and to get into them. It was so easy!!! We are in our 50s so we don't bend as easily as we used to so having that boat house at low or high tide was an extra perk for us! Lol!! The docks both have 2 levels for Kyak users as well. We brought our own kayaks and our guests used the house kyaks(which are high end fiberglass kyaks!!) They sit in between uses under a tree upside down so we rinsed them out just to ensure if any creepy crawlers were living in them they didn't crawl out while we were floating down the river!! Lol! My sister in law is deathly afraid of spiders. Hahaha! Anyway, just a thought. If you decide to rent this relaxing home you are in for a treat. It is so quiet in evening and in the day too. You also can sit on the docks at night, take a flashlight with you, make sure all lights are off and look up at the galaxy you live in. It is absolutely breathtaking!! If you make it down to the Seven Sisters Springs you are in for another beautiful scene. I could go on and on about this place but I will let you discover it for yourself. Now for Susan! She is so kind and just wants you to have a great time. She allowed us to check in early, even though we hit traffic and weren't able to take advantage of it. She then permitted us to check out later!!! She answers your messages promptly if you need her or have any questions. She is all about making sure you are taken care of. Please know that if you decide on this place for your spot to vacation you will not be disappointed in the least. We took our fur baby with us and she had the best time ever!! Just make sure Susan knows you are bringing yours if you do. I forgot to mention we were about half way to Seven Sisters and the sky opened up and it RAINED!!! I mean it R A I N E D!!!!!! We were laughing so hard that my brother in law tipped his Kyak🤣

Spacious with comfortable and convenient location
Had a great time staying here. Sue is an excellent host with great communication. Took one of the kayaks out on the canals and into the Chaz river to explore some of the beautiful springs. I was traveling alone but the place was large enough for a family to comfortably fit in. Everything was clean and lots of amenities. Kitchen stocked with plenty of kitchenware, coffee maker, fridge, stove, etc. Screened patio was nice with table and chairs and had lots of gear for the water. TV, wifi, and DVDs too. My only regret is I didn't say long enough and next time I'll bring a fishing pole ;-)

This property had everything needed for a 4 night stay. Clean, quiet, linens smelled fresh and the kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to make family meals every night. Check-in, check-out procedures and all information needed were clear and the property manage made sure we knew we could text her for anything needed,. Private and relaxing
This house is exactly as described. The only couple things I would say negative about it (knowing it is not the Ritz) is the floors and rugs are very dirty. Our socks were black by the end of each day or barefeet. Also at first the owner responded almost immediately but my last 2 texts to her were not responded to. Not a huge deal I was just hoping to extend our stay. The backyard access to the river is awesome! It was so easy to get on and off. It is a very quiet street. We will definitely stay there again. The washer and dryer was awesome to have. And the master bedroom bed was surprisingly comfortable for there being a lump right down the middle of it haha.

Excellent location to access the river. Easy to find location. Enough parking for 4 vehicles. Very close to shopping and restaurants. The kitchen is moderately supplied, could use a few pots but has mostly what you need. The master bedroom definitely needs a new mattress. We love coming to the Chazz. We love everything about this Little River. This location was great. The house truly had everything that you needed. We could definitely use a good dust rag and I'm not so sure the bedding was washed. No smell of fresh laundry being done at all. When you walk into a home after seeing the cleaning lady there you kind of expect to smell a clean home but we didn't. There was also visible dust throughout. Overall we did enjoy our stay. Thanks for having us.

River getaway
This stay place was surprisingly remote, within a small neighborhood. It was on a small canal. Looking out the back, the sun rose on the canal, which was made even more special with the chilly weather giving fog. The patio overlooked the canal and was quite nice to sit for afternoons-a bit of sun with lots of tree giving some shade, There is a strip center with grocery at the main road. The area was good for exploring, with a variety of areas nearby (some of the google maps were inaccurate, and we couldn't get to the gulf as expected). The whole area was highly relaxing. Nearby in Homossassa, we went on a manatee swim.
