We enjoyed our stay at the Omni, but there were a few rough edges where had I paid regular price instead of the screaming deal I got on Expedia, I might rate things lower. Overall the staff was fantastic. Very helpful and so friendly and accommodating. While the lobby and restaurant/bar were very nice, our room was starting to show it's age. In pictures it looked great but once we were in the room it definitely shows that it needs some updates and TLC. I also didn't appreciate the surprise of having to pay for WiFi ($10/day minimum) at a hotel of this regular price point. The pool area was like a resort, though the poolside bar was not open, so we had to walk through the lobby in our swimwear if we wanted a drink. Location is fantastic right next to the Buffalo Bayou and very close to the Galleria mall and downtown. While we were there, a number of events were happening in the hotel at the same time (weddings, galas, etc), so you may want to keep that in mind when booking. You may run into folks in full evening wear in the lobby as you shuffle in with your flip flops with a big bag of Popeye's. Overall this is a great hotel if you want to stay near downtown, but I hope they will be renovating/updating the rooms (at least the block we stayed in) soon.

It was a beautiful property with a live swan. Beautiful pool, beautiful lobby. Comfortable bed. Close parking (not free). Off in the cut but close to everything with night club on site and shuttle. Comfortable bed. The bad- the shower head blows too sharp, parking not free, few plug ins.
