The 29 mile long lake and surrounding area are owned in large part by the federal government with several state-owned parks and forests close by. It is a wonderful area to spend a family vacation with great hiking, hunting, boating, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. Other popular attractions include caverns, railroading, horse-back riding, lake cruises, boat rentals just to mention a few. For golfers, Huntingdon Country Club offers a public golf course about 4 miles north of us. Volunteers have created the Allegrippis Trail which is popular with biking enthusiasts.
